How on earth did they manage it 10 years ago when no one took a flag?! Must have been the most boring festival on earth with no atmosphere and it being impossible to be with your mates 100% of the time.

I prefer the atmos without flags

My mates meet me by a pre designated van, you cant meet up by a pre designated flag.

Bollocks. If you have one, you can manage.

The girl who gave me a lift back from the Sonisphere festival had no means of contacting me, couldn't get into our campsite, and didn't watch the same bands as me. We didn't have a single problem, and I got home fine.

That's retarded. Because of the nomadic nature of flag carriers they do not make good landmarks. Here is a template for a text for anyone stupid enough to think they'll lose their friends because there are no flags:

"Hi, I'll meet you by *insert description of stationary object here eg. mexican food van on the right as you look at the main stage* after/at *insert band/time here*"

Problem solved.

Banning flags is just common sense over the past few years more and more people are bringing them in and they seem to be the new 'must have.' (Yawn) but with 70,000+ in a crowd and say one in every four carries a flag we would have atleast 12,000 flags. madness. So like people have said before, talk to your friends and meet at a van or something.

o and can we ban umbrellas too! and while i'm at it lets ban those people that stand at the taps and wash their hair and brush their teeth (fill up a large water bottle) hello the world does no revolve around you!
