If you are 18 or oever but feel yo will be asked for ID a lot at the bars on site because you are fortunate to look younger please get one of our new over 18 wristbands. This is a new voluntary venture for anyone who wants it and the aim is that it will help our bar staff, gate staff and other local retailers to do a quick check for everyone that seems around 18 years old. It will stop you having to carry your ID every time you want a drink on site or want to bring alcohol into the campsites from the supermarkets. it is a trial so please help us with it. There will be a tent outside the arena entrance where you will be able to get the over 18's wristband once you have gone through the main gates."

pretty frustrating eh, if you were only just 18 its kinda understandable but when you're several years above the required age it's annoying!

i never ever carry ID though, too important to risk losing it/having it stolen! plus identity theft ..don't fancy a bit of that

I have only been asked for ID once at Reading , so I just went to a different bar and got served no problem!

I've never had a prob;e at Leeds but I feel that alot of places are totally craxking down on underagers buying booze and I recon festivals will be alot sticter this year. If anyone gets caught selling booze to an underager the person selling it will get fined about £200 and Festival Republic will get landed with a heavy fine.

What's with the big fear of carrying ID around? Yeah it costs a few quid to replace but don't be retarded and lose it. As for identity theft, I pity the fool who steals my life from me.

It is a pain carrying around ID all the time but if you look too young then sadly it has to be done. I suppose Drivers licence's are ok as you can keep them in your wallet but losing a pasport i'd imagine would be quite easy and it would cost alot to replace.

yea , passport costs a bit more too, and a load of forms!

Plus there's also been talks about having to take an interview when you get a passport in the future etc
