STUPID QUESTION FROM A V NEWBIE

Hi All,

Sorry for the stupid Newbie Q, but responses are very much appreciated! I ordered 4 tickets for weekend camping @ Hylands for V, and I got through the post yesterday no "tickets" as such, just the four fabric wristbands. With everyone else taking about tickets, I just wanted to check that's right?? There's a few leaflets, but I'm pretty sure there are no "tickets" - so what's all this about having to exchange your ticket for a wristband, as mine are already here!

Cheers all!

Poppy xxx ;)

I must admit I have never heard of anyone getting wristbands in advance instead of tickets but gigantic were an official seller so maybe its a one off, what I would say though is ring them up and see what the deal is because as far as I know everyone who has got tickets so far have got tickets not wristbands.

incidentally what colour are they?

If you're about to contact us to check on the whereabouts of an order, please note:

V Festival - tickets have now been despatched

I found that quoted on the gigantic website, so that seems to imply tickets rather than wristbands so you should defo ring them up.

If you can put a pic of them up so we can see if they even look authentic compared to previous years

good luck and make sure you ring them dont leave it to chance and get there and them be unnaccepted, have seen that happen to toomany people in the past!

Thanks for your advice, I'm trying to get through to Gigantic now, but it goes to voicemail.

The wirstbands are at my mums house, and I'm currently at my dads, but my boyfriend is going to pick them up so hopefully can get some photos up. :-S

Worrying... xxx

Hi again!

My boyfriend's had a look at them, and says they're in a cardboard envelope with lots of info printed on the back. He says among this info is a line saying that the wristbands have replaced the weekend camping ticket. Seems strange that no-one else has them, but he says it looks official? xx

Seetickets sent an email with info about V in general, and they said that they'd be sending wristbands for weekend with camping so you should be fine, it's the first year they've done it, but kinda makes sense, at least you don't have to queue at wristband exchange now

Our TICKETS from See came last weekend, and everyone I know who is going has also been sent tickets not wristbands. I also have not recieved any email off See about wristbands.

V have never sent wristbands in the past, for the simple rason that the are easier to copy than tickets. Also having the wristbands put on by the staff at V stops them being put on loosly so that they could be slipped off and passed to others.

I would give Gigantic a ring and check it out, just to be safe.

Yes. The more you think about it, the dodgier it sounds. Did you sign for your "wristbands" cause we had to sign for our tickets when they were delivered under secure postage from Seetickets. Do Gigantic deliver under secure postage?

I fear some sort of scam may have taken place here.

If you get to put your own wristband on, there's nothing to stop two people going into the arena: One of them takes off their wristband and gives it to the other person. He/she then wanders out again and passes the wristband to a third friend who then gets in for free. etc etc.

That's why "they" securely fit wristbands to you when you hand in your ticket.

Hope this works out for you

Hmm I'm sorry but this doesn't sound good. I have never heard of this before. It's always been tickets. That's why there's a wristband exchange so they can secure them properly also the barcode on your tickets gets scanned first. Tickets even get checked at the first search point to, well they do at Stafford anyways!!

I really hope everything gets sorted for you. I hate to see people get scammed :-(

Precisely, are you going to Chelmsford? cos that's the exact e-mail I got from seetickets saying they will be sending wristbands, why they're doing it I dunno but still, I got mine from the virgin media presale so there's no way it's gonna be a scam, maybe they're just trying something out which will have blatant faults, it is v after all

Hi everyone!

I can see why some people are thinking it's a scam, but from what others are saying and my own research, it just seems ot be something they're tryng out this year (see the link from seetickets wich Harry Monkfish kindly posted).

I have re-looked at the wristbands and they look ok - I did have to sign for them, they were sent recorded from Gigantic. They are in an offical "V festival" wallet, with all the terms and conditions on the back, they couldn't really look more official, but I'm sure peeps can see why we were worried!

I take it from what people are saying that it isn't just Gigantic giving out wristbands, so I'll ty and chill! Cheers for all your help guys xxx
