New Onsite Camping Supermarket

A new on site supermarket can be found near the arena entrance in the Village. It will sell convenience foods, snacks, pies/pasties, chilled drinks, fresh daily bread and milk, newspapers, beer/lager/cider, toiletries, pharmacy, general grocery, fresh sliced meats, bacon, sausage, butter and cheeses, deli counter, and cigarettes.

The supermarket will offer a card payment facility (minimum purchase £5) with cashback. A transaction fee of £1 for all card purchases applies.

Well uh... thanks. That's good to know. Is it gonna be a stall, or an actual tent? It's a very good idea of FR to do this, means people will leave the site less.

This will be useful for odd little one/two item purchases. However, If anyone was to do a decent sized shop (by festival standards) you would hope that they'd make the effort just one morning to go to the supermarket.

Can see it being very expensive (like £1.20 for a bag of crisps expensive).

at leeds it's a one in one out system, massive queues during the day but quite good at night.

Leeds one is quite good, loads of stuff and reasonable (says they sell at RRP), probably similar prices to Spar or something.

I don't think the one in Leeds was too badly priced. I can't really remember though as I went when i was drunk. However, from about 8am - 7pm there's always a long queue to get in, they use the one in one out system.

They also had microwaves in there as they had ready meals available.

if its fair priced I'll go there, else I wont..I'm not gonna go there just to avoid leaving the site so I can line the traders pockets... after all there's plenty of supermarkets within walking distance of the site

When the Festival was at the old site, Temple Newsham, there was a Tesco (i think) around the corner. Then the bloody 'rioters' got us kicked off the Temple Newsham site.
