also the police have said they're cracking down on people driving under the influence of drugs/drink to/from festivals (basically hoping its an easy way to make their targets)

obviously it's common sense, but if you are driving just think about it, the police love nothing more than an easy way to make their quota

Makes sense to check people who are driving in the evening on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Anyone who complains about that would/does drive when they're not fit to, and deserves to get caught/have their car/licence taken off them.

There's nothing wrong with people being drunk or under the influence of drugs doing something dangerous. That's their choice. It stops being their choice when that dangerous activity is likely to hurt the innocent.

I once read that over the drink drive limit, you're more likely to hurt or kill someone with a car (if you have one with you that night) than you are with a knife (if you have one with you that night).
