Lithium05
Maybe we'll get a repeat of this year and Blink will headline main stage download and R1 stage at R/L
JB15
Muse The Strokes Kasabian The Libertines Green Day Blink 182 Maybe too many big names there?
micawber
I don't think that we'll get a Grand Slam of greatest acts. I think that there will be too much competition. So my guesses are: MCR Razorlight Ash Silversun Pickups REM Jamie T Florence and the Machine Modest Mouse Iron Maiden Slipknot Coheed and Cambria Feeder

DaveElNino
Iron Maiden are nearly nailed on to headline Sonisphere next year. I'd be shocked to see Razorlight back at Reading any time soon - the memory of 2007 still lingers. REM would be amazing in the Radiohead slot from this year, just as long as they keep a decent amount of heavier stuff on the line-up. problematique.
If Muse and Green Day play it will be my perfect festival regardless of who else plays! But I think it'll be: Foo's (what with the Greatest Hits coming out and all) Kasabian The Libertines Green Day Blink
RedFerret
Mmmm they'll be a lot of choice for sure but i'll be going for this: Friday: (More punk oriented day) Green Day Blink 182 My Chemical Romance Paramore Saturday: (Indie oriented) The Libertines Kasabian Pendulum Sunday: (Rock Oriented) Muse/Foo Fighters (I got a funny feeling Sonisphere will get Muse & Iron Maiden) Soundgarden (Wishful thinking ) Biffy Clyro Something along those lines.... Lithium05
I reckon you might be right there. Sonisphere are going to need to book someone of Muse's size to avoid a repeat of the ticket fiasco that occured this year. Personally I hope they don't get them and ticket sales stay down so I can get them cheap/free again Also I think MCR won't , if they play, be any lower than second. The fact that it seems, based on that twitter comment, that they've already been booked, implies they might even headline. Edit: I would put money on Green Day doing stadiums rather than festivals. There's more cash in it for them. Edited September 3, 2009 by Lithium05

micawber
I'd like to see Reading pull off a "Glasto" and get a big non-festival band headlining. Rush would be a superb Sunday headliner. They'd shift the day tickets easily whilst still leaving plenty of arena space a la Radiohead. Lithium05
The Who will be touring next year apparently (nailed on for Glasto I reckon though)

Lithium05
I was just basing it on the rumblings that next years Glasto will be a "best of" line-up.
Gareth100
I hope we don't get the same old names. Foos, RHCP etc...and that FR show some imagination or sense of dare with the bill... Saturday with Arcade Fire headlining with LCD Soundsystem underneath would be an awesome double bill and both bands are close friends. The Beastie Boys, Rammstein (even just for the stage show itself), AC/DC...all would be great solid headliners. Bands with a big crossover appeal who know how to play to a massive crowd basically. David Bowie would surely be the biggest cross generation/genre pull? I think it was one of the big festival bookers saying how hard it was to come up with original headliners nowadays. That there are lots of 'big' bands but few actual BIG bands...a band that can do four nights at Brixton isn't necessarily going to be able to pull off a headline slot. Something like that anyway...if you get the picture. I know I can go to ATP and see my favourite bands but it would be great to see people like PJ Harvey back, The National Modest Mouse, Melt Banana, Deerhunter, Fleet Foxes and Animal Collective (if they can sort the live thing out) appearing on the bill too. Charmer
It won't be Blur.. as they said they are done after this little 'tour'. Muse Blink 182 Foo Fighters Kasabian The Libertines Could see three of them doing it next year. Would love to see Eminem on the bill somewhere.
