Would be very suprised if they played and did not headline. Their last run as a band was big, two sold out arena tours within a year, and they've just done a huge US tour playing the ampitheatres over there which hold between 15-25k so pretty big venues.

If they didn't headline, I would imagine it was only because the organisers want to go down the route they took last year. Ie, radio friendly bands with mass appeal.

If the rumours are true and they play under Green Day then I could see bands like Paramore and maybe Limp Bizkit filling in just below them. Shamefully, this would be the heavy day no doubt :P

Has anyone confirmed whether the leaked Greenday festival dates were faked or not? If they're legit then it would be pretty obvious that Blink would be subbing to Greenday? The top 2 or 3 bands on R&L mainstage are usually arena sized acts so it wouldn't be too far fetched.

They could still have a rockier/heavier day looking like :-

LINKIN PARK

JAY-Z

LIMP BIZKIT

STONE SOUR

CREED

DISTURBED

Or is that just wishful thinking??

A lot of people seem to use the "they split up, so there is a lot of anticipation for them, and they should move up the bill argument". However is there any precidence for this??? From my memory all the bands who have headlined after a split have headlined before they split. Admitedly I have not checked, so could be wrong.

I know the Pumpkins and Pixies have headlined Reading before. RATM, I still don't know whether they or The Prodigy headlined in 1996 (different sources contradict each other) but I know they only played second in 1993 and fourth in 2000.

I would much prefer blink to sub headline to green day rather than headline outright themselves, unless its the NME stage. I have a bad feeling its Gona be a mcr blink co-headline. to me that would. be a poor booking!

If so ill be hoping for strong NME stage that day and better main stage headliners the other 2 days.

I hope in wrong about that co-headliners prediction!

There is no way that Green Day will accept playing as co-headliners. They are plenty big enough in their own right to headline on their own. Especially when you consider the other band Blink 182...they are much much bigger than!

Either Blink will play 2nd top which in my oppinion they should be doing, or they will headline another day.
