Ed209
The sound levels on the main stage seem to be getting worse and worse every year. Despite Melvin Benn telling us every year that its due to freak atmospheric conditions, its clear that they're not as loud as they once were. I imagine this is because the locals are complaining each year and Reading council is having to lower the limit. Surely they can't continue like this, with ticket prices so high the punters deserve better for their money. Do reckon its time they thought above relocating out of an urban area to somewhere less populated so they can turn it up to 11 once again?? I know it would be sad to leave its present location, its fairly iconic but the enjoyment of the gigs is being seriously hampered.

jameshendicott
Something needs to be done about the main stage sound, it's rubbish. I barely heard a note of Exit Music (for a film) stood to the right of the sound tower, and let's be honest, rock music needs to be LOUD. Moving sites might be a bit extreme though, I hope it doesnt need to go that far. It's convenient where it is now, and I'm not sure I'd be interested if it involved the effort of a festival like Glastonbury (which I consider worth the effort, but Reading... probably not.) benissright
It was louder than last year, im sure of that. Even glasto - which doesnt have perfect sound - could not have had decent sound with that wind this year.
Jefrow
The wind made the main stage sound bad.. I found that if you moved a bit closer to the speakers in the middle it made a lot of difference.
Dirty Boots
The sound on Friday was poor due to the wind ... Every other day was pretty good to me. I was too wasted to nit pick though.

Spider43
I'm pretty sure they have signed a lease on the site so won't be going anywhere soon. Anyway thought the volume was too high when Ian Brown was on!!

Matticus
it was the wind yes, but even then it was quiet as f**k even if it was a still day, i could wisper to my mate whilst standing near the wall just to the left of the stage in arctic monkeys!
