The Nal
It's a highly complex topic. Saying it must be better than eating a chocolate (or whatever) because of the possible consequences, for a laugh, is not particularly helpful on any level And is it funny? Ooh my sides... All about empathy for me. So if it can be highlighted in that (ridiculous) way and be funny I'm all for it. Like the war on heroin or crack. No one tries to get inside the mind of the dealers, users etc. Its just "its bad, conversation over". Edited May 19, 2015 by The Nal

LondonTom
In most cases, the perpetrator doesn't expect to get caught, that's why the punishment doesn't work. So sort of missing the point there I don't think thats true for everyone though is it? Alot of people know there is a good chance of getting caught but do it anyway. (Say fighting at a football match these days for example, the amount of police and CCTV its highly likely). So its not really, they would be aware of the punishment and the chances of getting caught ..but still act on it. Thought it was point well made in a humorous way and it does make you think about the lengths you'd go to for certain things you enjoy even if peadophilia was the extreme end of that. philipsteak
That's too depressing for words. Yeah it's not brilliant. But you can't blame Louis CK for that. You might not like his methods, but he has highlighted a serious issue that most people wouldn't touch with a barge pole, and got people talking about it. fred quimby
Just to say Stewart Francis was very funny last night, some great puns, some obviously not so great but there were so many that you are onto the next quickly. I just wish I could remember some of them. With fast past puns I hear a really good one and think, oh I will be using that, 2 puns later and I have forgoten it.
