The Nal
Hadn't see this before. The banned Bill Hicks performance shown for the first time on Letterman last year. He had Hicks mother on and apologised to her. This is very funny. The bit about Easter in particular. Ed209
you should go see him doing one of his story shows its as close to perfection as comedy gets imho. and its the only way to see him as never does tv work Saw Kitson a couple of months ago at the Union Chapel. He really was brilliant! If anybody see's a listing for him in their area then GO! Think we paid a tenner. Absolute bargain

t8yman
rhod gilbert is consistently hilarious. i really like him. I thought this until last night. Saw him and found it very very average. Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt say he was bad, he just seemed to do a lot of material I have heard before (without actively seeking any of his stuff out), and that was his funniest stuff. the rest was poor. which brings me to Sean Locke, saw him last week in York, and that was poor. its a bit adlibbed, and the audience were chuckling quite a bit, but there was very little outright laughing going on. anyway, seeing Kevin Bridges in a coupla weeks, really looking forward to that. Toilet Duck
Classic stuff from an Irish hidden camera show. Any Father Ted fans might recognise Patrick McDonnell from his turn as Eoin McLove... Edited March 11, 2010 by Toilet Duck

Cardboard Box City
Dont know what her name is, but she's been on a few things recently, she's Iranian and did a Comedy Store specially which was f**king hilarious. Which is suprising because the majority of the well known female comedians are shite. There's also a Geordie female comedian who was really good on the Comedy Store as well. Shapi Corsandi (spelling?)? may be the Iranian lass, she is good. The Geordie chick is also good. I think both of them have been on Live At The Apollo. Speaking of that, there was a guy called Russel Kane who was great. Young lad but dead funny, you immediately think he's like Russel Howard or something but he's actually funny and isn't addled with ADD. Haven't seen or heard from him since seeing him on Live At The Apollo. I agree with you about majority of female comedians. I generally find that if a comedian is not only a woman, but is also black, that raises the probability of them being utter w*nk to 100%. Racist mysogyny FTW. Cardboard Box City
Shappi Khorsandi and Sarah Millican? That's them. Shappi Khorsandi's set had some quality bits in it - "I've been been getting mixed up between the social networking sites, so recently I've been inviting people to come on MyFace...". There was also a bit about the refugee customs areas at airports that was good. The only bit of the Geordie ones set was about w*nking off her boyfriend on a bus for ages... "The bus driver shouted up the stairs 'are you ever going to get off' and I said 'tell us about it, me wrists are f**king knacking!'" There's also a bloke who does comedy songs, he's called Stephen Lynch:
t8yman
saw Kevin Bridges last night. Must say I was a little disappointed. Dont get me wrong he was funny most of the time, it just felt a bit forced in places. He did less than an hour and struggled toward the end. It was the first night of his tour so obviously he was finding his feet with the material, but as an encore he came out and said he would answer a few questions - absolute silence from the audience. The encore failed miserably. And I "got" a lot of the scottish references, being married to a scot - I reckon a bit of it was lost on those less familiar with the scottish "way". I had a good night, but doubt I would bother going to see him again. edited to add The support was good I thought, a geordie lad called graham - forget his surname. Spiky Mike
Most acts use older material when they go on TV as once they have done stuff on TV they often try to avoid it on tour. I know Sarah Millican has that policy. Sarah Millican is awesome and playing at loads of our clubs in The Midlands and Shappi is also doing a couple of them. Alcatraz
Just got back from seeing Mark Thomas do a People's Manfiesto show in town. I was really impressed by him tonight, best I think I've seen from him, mostly because it isn't stand up and that allows his quick wit to shine through
