SweepingTheNation
Given Simon and Sofia always talk about it primarily being their favourite artists, maybe their top 20 albums of 2009 from the mailout will provide some clues: 1. The Low Anthem - Oh my God, Charlie Darwin 2. The Unthanks - Here's the Tender Coming 3. The Horrors - Primary Colours 4. Dan Auerbach - Keep it Hid 5. Lightning Dust - Infinite Light 6. Animal Collective- Merriweather Post Pavillion 7. Andrew Bird – Noble Beast 8. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca 9. Richard Hawley - True Love’s Gutter 10. White Denimin - Fits 11. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest 12. Wilco - Wilco 13. Bill Callahan – Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle 14. Antony and the Johnsons – The Crying light 15. Cass McCombs - Catacombs 16. Mumford & Sons - Sigh No more 17. Evening Hymns - Spirit Guides 18. Forest Fire - Survival 19. Timber Timbre - Timber Timbre 20. Atlas Sounds - Logos
Dave S
I would put a tenner on the horrors playing.
SweepingTheNation
I dunno, Simon and Sofia were openly keen last year but given they played Bestival the day before pulling out claiming illness (a dud of a set, by all accounts) might give them second thoughts. Interesting to see the Unthanks in there, I can see them charming people in the Big Top.

C3P0
As long as a Midwestern American band is headlining, let's pull another: Ryan Paul & THE ARDENT Much to be heard from them live

C3P0
YES! I was just going to suggest these guys. Great band, I'd love to see them there. Definitely check them out if you haven't heard them.
seadragon
And here I thought I was being all cool with my suggestion. Saw them with Daredevil Christopher Wright and Rock Plaza Central once. Good times.
seadragon
In fact as well as those two I just mentioned there are a lot of other people I'd love to see. I've been resisting posting a long list but I haven't seen these mentioned yet... Pete Greenwood Phosphorescent Taxi Taxi Jason Lytle Arms & Legs Liam Finn Thee Oh Sees Sea Wolf Memory Tapes Bower Birds Tobias Ben Jacob Dr Dog dios (malos) Chris Garneau Good Shoes Freelance Whales Tom Woodward Josh Ritter Islands Beach House Antony & the Johnsons Ben Folds and these I think have been mentioned already or have played before, but I'd also love to see them Daniel Johnston, Atlas Sound/Deerhunter, Blitzen Trapper, Woodpigeon, Shearwater, Tallest Man on Earth, Yo la tengo, Midlake, Boy Least Likely To (they were great last year), Iron & Wine, Bill Callahan, Kings of Convenience, Mark Lanegan/Isobel Campbell, Dept of Eagles, The Leisure Society, Fanfarlo, Bon Iver, Loney Dear, Peter Broderick
C3P0
haha I just read through the whole thread wondering if anyone would suggest them and then you did in the last post! It's good to see Daredevil Christopher Wright on the line up too. I've got my ticket already and I'm chuffed with the bands announced yesterday, but if they added Ryan Paul & the Ardent and Woods/Woods Family Creeps too that'd be fantastic! jameshcwilson
also, the Veils are a really really good live band. I'd recommend them too.
undercover cop
Hi Sofia Line up is shaping up to be fantastic Given that Black Mountain are signed up why not get the side project Blood Meridian to play too.? They are great -a bit more country dirge than BM. Their track Kick Up the Dust deserves to be an anthem of the festival. I also recommend Sweet Baboo (friend of Cate Le Bon) who has had two very strong LPs out recently. Please please please book the Brakes and if the Broken Family Band are truely broken; Singing Adams. The festival would not be the same without them. Undercover cop
Cauchy
I saw Ryan Paul and the Ardent a few months ago and they were fantastic. I have good feeling that the lineup for this year will be really good.
