Pefect festival...

You get given a million pounds to put on your own festival...line-up aside, what things would you have?? I think-.

* a swimming pool...

* 10,000 capacity maximum...

* an option to rent your own portaloo for the weekend...

* people are only allowed in wearing band t-shirts

(I'm considering putting on my own festival next year...its obviously an expensive business so I've had to invent something to pay for it...but I'm gonna be rich! Get this...what are a women's two favourite things?? Flowers and orgasms...correct! So I'm gonna patent my new labour-saving device...the 'Daffo-dildo'...

Admittedly all I've come up with the so far is the name but the rest is just a formality surely...)

The perfect festival for me would probably have to be a recreation of Glastonbury in the 80's, even though I wasn't even born in that era just looking at the pictures makes me envious of the people who went there. I mean check out this video! A perfect band playing at an absolutely perfect festival. (although the weather wasn't that perfect!)

I am also planning on organising a festival next year, I've got a few friends who are interested in the idea so hopefully it will all turn out good!

(btw, what thing did you invent to pay for it? pm me if you don't want to tell on here)

Cheers,

1. make a festival over 18's, they have a under 18 festival why cat we have over 18 festivals.

2. ban muse from playing it

3. sunshine, give good old god a bribe in having glorious sunshine for the weekend.

4. make the camping area/arena all ass one, just liek glasto.

5. proper after band entertainment like trash city at glasto.

6. do away with the superstar headliner and get a good lineup through the festival.

7. do away with the union tent and make it a tent for acoustic/world stage artists.

8. only let bands play one every 4 years.

Unless I'm just getting old - any festival pre 2000 was just about ideal.

Beer = same price as your local.

Capacity = big enough for a crowd, small enough to move around fairly freely.

Toilets = queue no longer than 2-3 minutes.

Car Park = Out within 30 minutes - 1 hour.

Main Stage = Location/atmosphere more important than how many people you can fit in front of it (i.e. new Hylands Park layout).

Camping = room to swing a cat or create on site 5-a-side tournaments with other campers.

ban muse

make it an over 18 festival, they have an under 18 festival so why not

give him above a bribe so its glorious sunshine all weekend

dont be so predictable with headliners, all festivals do the same.

make the arena and campsite as on, like glasto.

have the union stage as an acoustic/world stage tent.

have proper late entertainment like trash city at glastonbury

have a registering system with picture to stop touts.

have a rule that bands can only play once every 3 or 4 years, stops predictable bookings.

have theme years like one year pop, next indie, next rock, next dance.

I like almost all of the ideas here - top stuff.

I wouldn't have contemplated banning Muse until they released The Resistance. I now thank they should have their instruments confiscated until they promise to pull their self indulgent heads out of their bottoms.

Not sure about 'themed' years either. Diversity and eclectic line-ups are a big draw for me.

Everything else: spot on!

I'd also add a maximum price on alcoholic drinks and especially on food.

Why are we back to talking about Lily Allen??

I love that thing she said about file-sharing ''I've done my bit and now its time to pass the batton to somebody else''...sorry love, but putting a post on Twitter doesn't make you Nelson Mandela...
