No, it will mean any fire that is lit will be easily identified by the stewards and dealt with quickly and the people evicted.

It's much harder to identify a out of control fire when there are thousands.

Remember Reading has extensive CCTV coverage and potential incidents can be reacted to quicker if they stand out.

I don't think it's a stupid comparison in the slightest... As i originally said, it's of a different scale, but exactly the same principle... Health and Safety is simply taking over our freedom unless it suits the rich companies... These people don't care about us, or they care about is protecting themselves and the organisation.

Eventually there won’t be a festival because of some pathetic reason like someone tripped over a rock.. Here comes the health and safely squad! , but I guess it'll be ok.. You’ll all say its fine.... people just don't seem to realise how much there getting f**ked anymore..... Every year the festival just gets more restrictive.. the barrier on main stage for example... not to mention the fact there has never been one before! perhaps a few million people were ok? Had a great time?... one death or injury and BOYAkSHA.... no more big mosh pits, people may get hurt! Jesus Christ! Surely it’s down to the individual what they choose to do, not some shitty politician!

Take a look at this guys, it's worth a watch... only 3 minutes long.

What do you think people do at the majority of other festivals that don't allow fires? You can do exactly the same just without a fire. just put an extra layer on if you get cold!

I'm sure no one really wants fires to be banned, they are great fun and at too the atmosphere at the festival though when some twats are throwing other peoples tents on fires something needs to be done.

If fires really are that important head to Glastonbury.

At Leeds there needs to be a Police presence, there are virtually no police there and i believe it just adds to the trouble. In 05 we had the SS Security which was too heavy handed but now the security have too little power, they should be backed up by the police, yes it would cost more but IMO the main threat is if Police are at Leeds then the ammount of mindless crime commited would be recorded and the festival would lose the licence. I may well be way off the mark but it's just my opinion.
