New BBC forecast:

(last updated Monday, 21 June, 1442)

High pressure will remain in place throughout the week, promising fine conditions for the bulk of the Glastonbury Festival. Until the end of the week the weather will be dry and very warm. Worthy Farm could be a bit of a dustbowl! Hammering in tent pegs and the high UV index are likely to be the main hazards. (And don't forget this is the peak of the grass pollen season.) But despite some high daytime temperatures, it will be relatively cool at night with temperatures dropping into single figures.

As temperatures rise over the weekend the risk of heavy showers and even thunderstorms will rise. Although it is not possible to say at this stage whether Pilton will be affected, it might be wise to find room in your rucksack for a waterproof and a pair of wellies.

however if it all gets too German, they do sometimes try to take over Europe.

The mud was shin deep in places, and it dried onto my legs and seeped into my boots. The dry mud set like concrete, fusing my socks to my leg hairs stronger than any Veet product could ever wish for. Thus ensued the most painful boot removal procedure I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

Amazing!

It really, really could happen.

Could it be a 7yr cycle thing, as 2003 was the last completely dry Glastonbury, as i recall??

Any news from JACKONE?

This has become extremley german.

To celebrate I bought a german buscuit today for me, and bought a french bread stick and gave it to a homeless person as a good omen.( although he prob doesnt realise the breadstick will bring him rain)

JACKONE has done most of his forecast. Good news, basically sunshine and some cloud (Wed eve into Thursday) but pretty much no rain until Saturday and Sunday when thundery showers might make an appearance.

I'm cautious because the swamp of 2005 happened on a forecast of thundery showers, but that was Friday morning rather than Saturday afternoon or Sunday. If worse comes to worse I can cope with a bit of m** late in the weekend.

The ensembles seem to be essentially dry all the way through with only a little wetness on Sunday. Out of the years i've been watching the models etc (05, 07, 09) this is by far the best forecast of the bunch.
