After todays bad news, nothing less than 5 days of blistering sun is acceptable. Not even one wispy c**ting cloud

Here's JACKONE's first post over on Netweather;

Here is the first forecast for the season, at this stage we are looking for trends and expect many ups and downs in the forecast over the next month.

CFS based on run published 23 May - Largely unsettled conditions with the chance of a few showers, temps would likely be in the mid teens.

CFS based on run published 24 May - Settled conditions to start, but low pressure pushing in from the west bringing bands of rain at the same time, giving quite a wet festival period, the only saving grace is the temps in the low to mid 20s.

So on the limited data so far, the chance of a wet festival is quite high, there will a midweek update, before the first blog is set be issued on Saturday.

Ooooh fabulous! At this time in the glasto calender we usually get 'It's going to be scorching' so this can only be good news for a complete and utter turn-a-round. :P

To be on the safe side I have invested in great boots, with lambskin insoles, blister plasters, wellie socks, new waterproofs and waterproofed my tent. So sunshine guarenteed, as the last time I did all of this was 2003 (? seems about right) I was terribly sunburnt, inadequately dressed for a heatwave and all the pics of me are beetroot red faced. The year I didn't bother being properly equipped was THE year of non stop rain, 2006?

Sorry terrible on years, sign of some great Glasto's! :P

Bottom of page 2! Far too many U2 threads on page one!!

So now we're having the much hoped for downturn to the glorious weather, the downturn that will get all the sh1tty weather out the way before Glasto, rain Saturday etc.

Looks like our dastardly plan is working!!

Right - now all the hoo ha is sorted (and I'm very happy about Gorillaz)

Can we all get back to the sundances please? The Headliner threads keep pushing this one down (man) and we must not get complacent, even this far out ;D

I do love a good long range forcast but these are as future facing as I can find.... Anyone do any better?

10 day weather prety accurate

http://uk.weather.com/weather/10day-Glastonbury-UKXX1641

Another 10 day one, but it's a efestivals competitor site and the efest bots #### hash up the URL when i try to post...

9 day - ok, but not been using it for a long:

http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/...orecasts/latest

In depth 5 day:

http://www.weathercity.com/uk/gb/glastonbury/

Yahoo 5 day

http://uk.weather.yahoo.com/england/somers...stonbury-21142/

BBC - toggles between 5day and indepth day weather:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/307...rea=Glastonbury

Metcheck seems to be messed up:

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/events_list.asp?month=6

Guardian predicts good weather (in a very general way...)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/blog/2010/mar...eather-forecast

The Gorge usually puts together some sort of weather guide in the weeks before the festival:

http://www.gorge.org/glastonbury/weather.shtml

So I'll be hitting all those sites on the refresh between now and the big day!

I'm making myself ignore JACKONE's sterling efforts for the time being. He'll have his reasons, probably very good ones, for suggesting 'unsettled' right now, BUT azue all well gnome, it's still too early to say at all -- signals now can only provide outline indicators.

I will change this statement once he starts predicting 'hot and sunny' -- should he do that, the forecasts for me will suddenly become nailed on!

But if you're biting nails at hos eearly 'predictions', remember that he predicted a hot and sunny one last year for ages beforehand, yet right near the time, the reality became a bit less settled. Could move in an ppisite direction this time, who knows???

We won't really know till around 15th June or so onwards I rweckon. The more changes/fluctuations we get to the early indiocators now, the more there'll be to play for.

Oh, yes, apols to all for so much absence from here this winter and spring.

Mostly down to slackness generally, ahem :P but on top of that since 10th May I've had an actual new job (following 18 months unemployment :P since moving to Swansea in December 2008).

So my access here is even more limited than it was over the buildup to the big one in 2009.

I can however confirm that our Info Crew working tickets have now been confirmed :lol::lol::P , details of exactly which shifts and which Info Tent to follow later.
