Not sure whether this has been posted already but it looks good so this is the one I'm taking notice of:

June

Temperature: Slightly above average

Precipitation: Slightly below average

A spell of rather warm and dry weather is expected to develop early on as high pressure builds across the country. This is likely to break with showers or longer spells of rain returning during the second week of the month. As well as turning less settled temperatures will also fall. Towards the middle of the month drier and warmer conditions may well begin to return.

The second half of the month is expected to bring a lot of fine and settled weather to southern parts in particular, although the north should also have fine weather at times. The settled conditions may well last for much of the second half of the month, possibly becoming very warm at times in the south. Overall temperatures should be above average during the entire period.

Also, with bad weather in the second week of June it has enough time to get that out of its system and then it will turn warm again just in time for glasto...simples!

That's an excellent outlook, when was it updated?

ETA : Ah, OK, update was 31st May ...

But sadly quite far out of line from most other extended forecasts at the moment. I await JACKONE's next update over on Netweather with extreme nervousness, because most of the geeks/experts over there are generally looking at an extended breekdown in conditions after next weekend. Horrid talk of low pressure dominance for mid/late June. Arghhhh!!!

Quote from http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-app/rep...ENU=Month-ahead

*20/06/10 - 25/06/10*

The flow and pattern here reverts mainly to one dominated from the west, high pressure will desperate to hang on to something akin to summer, however on current evidence it looks as if it'll be eroded away into a rather mish-mash of conditions?

Low pressure to the northwest will slip into the UK bringing a rather unsettled regime of showers or even longer spells of rain, the most 'disturbed' conditions expected to be concentrated over the north where it could be windy at times and feeling distinctly cool for the time of year. England and Wales should be drier and brighter still for a time, although here too a slippage soon will be underway to unsettled and mixed conditions.

Low pressure may become anchored to the northeast through the latter stages of the period, a cool and very showery regimes affecting the whole of the UK, little to suggest summer here?

*26/06/10 - 02/07/10*

Low pressure should edge away to the east taking away with it the rather cool and unsettled conditions that have plagued the UK throughout much of June, a short period of drier and brighter weather may take hold although may not last? Showers should die away from most areas with some good sunny spells developing lifting the temperatures to descent levels, so perhaps something akin to summer at long last for a time, but this looks like being scrubbed out from the west or northwest as cloud and showers push in from the west.

The latter stages of the period looks as though it'll be a repeat performance of the later stages of June, with low pressure moving in to the UK to bring a rather unsettled and cool regime to all areas, little to suggest any protracted summer-like weather?

I'm hoping that this is just the period where the sky gets rid of all the rain just in time for the sun to come out at the end of June. Because that's CLEARLY how weather works.

They just said on the radio that I'm listening to that the Glasto weather forecast is in and it's going to be hot and sunny! B)

I'll take that as the official one.

Which radio station? What sources have they used?

Dave out on the garden holding a weather vane and a barometer?

Still - if it's good, I'll believe it.

Well, even if they tend to get things wrong a lot of the time I'm more inclined to believe the Met Office over and above many of the other weather 'sources'. Their latest update (link) states the following which I guess say all things to all people but I've decided to focus on the text I've put in bold. I'll simply ignore the last sentence.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 15 Jun 2010 to Tuesday 29 Jun 2010

The somewhat unsettled theme with sunshine and showers is likely to continue at first, with perhaps a trend towards higher pressure giving drier, brighter and warmer conditions with some sunnier parts perhaps very warm. Southern and western parts may see more in the way of rainfall with the possibility of some thundery weather, whilst northern and eastern regions should remain drier.

July

Temperature: Close to average

Precipitation: Close to average

The first half of the month is expected to bring a mixed weather, although the emphasis may well be on drier and warmer conditions, especially in southern regions. Temperatures on the whole are likely to be close to the seasonal average.
