elfimaju
I must stay off the Hot & Spicy Cider! I remember Bjorn Again in cold wet weather. If Bjorn Again didn't play last year, or did play, but it was sunny, then I'm going for a lie down.
devonhammer
for a country that obsesses about the weather you guys sure can't predict it! I use the weather channel online to get my UK forecast. It is 95% accurate for the 10 day forecast. It says that Wed. Thurs. and Friday are sunny to partly sunny and average of 68. Thats warm, not hot but warm. Slightly windy ( forgot from what direction). Going to get cold at night so bundle up but day's should be fantastic so far! sprocketrocket
Netweather Glasto forecast shows a f**king fantastic Wednesday, and a perfectly acceptable Thursday to Saturday. I am prepared - at this relatively late stage - to STICK with this one. Come on weather gods - stick with us - please!!

Mr Weazle
basically all this thread concludes is that no one has a fu*king clue about what the weather will do. We are able to view exo-planets hundreds of millions of light years away but we cant say if it will be sunny or rainy 7 days in advance.

devonhammer
Just posted on the NetWeather forums: It is absolutly excellent. 2 weeks of dry weather is really possible. This is fantastic. Next week are the longest days, so nice time to see some high temperatures. No doubt that some one will try to put a downer on this, when one run without any agreement shows up and starts posting about it, like bait. It is just nice to see typical summery weather for once. I think, regardless what happens it will be known as a dry month. Nothing to say it will be like the last summers just yet. I quite like the end of GFS FI too, with that low to the south bringing up heat from france, lovely that would be!
Mas
I don't want to put a damper on it (I really seriously don't) but does anyone think we should be concerned with the flooding going on in France at moment? I have packed my wet weather gear so the gods of weather don't think I am taking them lightly but do you think they are toying with us a bit? _danny_
true story. i had a dream last night that i was sitting with the group of people i'm going with this year, and one of them had a copy of the sun with the headline 'UK STARTS TWO WEEK DROUGHT'. just to let you know * * please note, _danny_ has never been accused of being a prophet, mystic, fortune teller, or any such thing before, and so this may or may not be a load of bollocks. devonhammer
re unisys gets its model from GFS, but you may know that. very odd that if you click on the 'time' slots at e.g. 8 or 9 days, a chart comes up that is different to that shown on the main page. low pressure lurks on the 8, 9 or day individual pages. weird or what... anyway, the main page shows balmy balmy balmy: http://weather.unisys.com/gfsx/9panel/gfsx_500p_9panel_eur.html ...whereas clicking on the 9th day via 'time' shows a slack area of low pressure over us. perhaps those indivudual pages are showing activity in the upper atmosphere, or subtle variations in pressure that needn't bother us. here is the 9 day individual chart via 'time', for next Thurs: http://weather.unisys.com/gfsx/9d/gfsx_500p_9d_eur.html
Pinhead
I will take this forecast without question - if it turned out to be accurate, that would have to be the best once since good old 1995. TBH, it seems to have been relatively dry on site this year leading up - anyone looking at the webcam regularly enough must have noticed the distinct lack of rain on it compared to previous years and it seems to have been pretty sunny and bright every time I have looked. devonhammer
ah, must from y'day, which showed the low prfessure :-) thanks. btw, http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/ has a number of chart sources to choose from. choose them from the list top left and if a range of hours or days pops up top centre, click away. and btw again, today the meto office talks of rain in its forecasts that cover the festival period. devonhammer
as a source of several charts, wetterzentrale is good. our own met office gives nothing similar. it'll be interesting to see when various charts converge. clearly, GFS is conflicting with the met office charts at the mo [but wasn't y'day]. maybe today's set from the GFS is a rogue - or is merely back on track after y'day's low pressure filled charts at 9-10 days out. as ze germans would say - "ve shall see!"
