bobzz
Thanks for your info and opinions =) I have been reading twice, and i guess this is the only chance i will get of going to leeds, and i guess it would be nice to experience the vip side of things like you said, has anyone here done to trip from london to leeds for the fest? Cheers =)
thomasowen
Right. I am not going to pretend I've been to Leeds... I have not. I have only ever been to Reading. Subsequently, all I can tell you about is the pro's / con's of VIP down saaf. At Reading i'd say the VIP camp site is significantly better than the main area and indeed well worth acquiring if possible. * You are right next to the main camp sites / the arena so both are easily accessible. * You have a constantly security monitored camp site with working (warm showers) and fairly decent toilets. * The VIP area has nicer toilets / is next to the arena and the food is of a better quality. There are also places to sit down... tables and chairs! I'm a bit snobbish I guess now but I'm really not too interested in going to Reading for the full weekend without VIP tickets or a hotel. I would say it's about getting old, but alas it really isn't, I just hate people in general, especially dirty smelly 14 year olds who want to give me free hugs * * I did that and now understand the error of my ways. Gary
TBH none of those reasons sound that great to me. I don't care about showers at a festival, I don't like being near the arena because of noise but the toilets might be nice
bobzz
I think i may aswell go for i, i forgot to mention i won these tickets, so i guess it is worth it =) Although i already bought a reading ticket in the presale, sods law! So yeah has anyone done the London - Leeds trip Thanks for the input =D
JameSemajj
As far as i'm concerned, if one decides to go to a rock festival, then one should fulfill the festival experience.. I don't think VIP is a good idea and alot of good fun would be missed.
bobzz
I guess so, but couldi can still go to the other campsites with a VIP camping band right?
Vacant0
Why don't you just sell the vip tickets and just go to Reading if you already have tickets for that anyway?

eFestivals
Simply: no. If you want to use slightly cleaner bogs (the only advantage of being a 'VIP'), then there's less travelling involved to walk into Reading town and use some public bogs there. Chihiro Cheeks
I would def go for it. I've had VIP leeds the last few yrs n it does make a big difference. It's so much easier to get in and out of the arena and the campsite is much more spaced out. Nicer facilities. Plus its Leeds and its in the nice countryside not in a city! Ringo_Spar
The harsh, brutal reality is: 1) Unless you are a genuine VIP, then you'll never get the full VIP experience. 2) Festivals that offer VIP tickets to the general public are: a) ripping off wannabes (if wannabes are stupid enough to fall for it, fair enough); admitting their regular facilities are not up to scratch; c) both 3) Any genuine VIP that wants to be identified as a VIP with special treatment is deranged and has a much too high an opinion of themselves. Festivals should create an inclusive community, festivals that offer VIP tickets can't possibly create an inclusive community, you therefore have to question their integrity at calling themselves a festival. Shoot me down in flames but any argument to the contrary of the above proves what I am saying anyway...

DaveElNino
I imagine that VIP will mean the guest area at Leeds. I camped there in 2003 (when it incorporated the disabled camping area) and in 2006 (when I'd won tickets). At Leeds it definitely offerred the advantage of a short and reasonable walk to the main stage area - especially when compared with camping in Green which at Leeds was a good 15 minute walk to the main entrance of the arena. It had its own bar / catering with seating, and there was definitely more space there than you'd find anywhere close to the arena in one of the main campsites. As for the London -> Leeds journey, I've done it a few times, but only in a car so can't offer much help when it comes to trains.
