Rock am Ring 2010

You are guaranteed to be able to park your car somewhere close to a camping ground. How close that ground will be to the stages is a matter of arriving early, however, otherwise you'll have to use the shuttle buses.

heeeeey whats this anti-frankfurt bulls*** all about !?!? :P

altouhg i´d have to agree that cologne´s better - normally bands only play 4 cities over here - munich, berlin, hamburg and cologne, there are a lot more clubs there. but frankfurt has enough to offer itself!

clubs: O25, clubkeller, silbergold, batschkapp, nachtleben - just search for any of these - programmes are normally on the first page.

but if you´re going to rock am ring i would also see to get to cologne rather than frankfurt, think its nearer. i´m personally driving from frankfurt on the wednesday (about a two hour dirve) - but i live there :P

(sorry if i missed anything in your posts or if its too late anyway...i just briefly flew over them)

What advice can people give for stocking up on supplies if we're driving from calais?

Is it better to pick stuff up in france or in germany? I know the shops aren't very big in germany and last time we went (when we were driving from frankfurt to nurburgring in a hire car) we stopped in a town called mayen (i think) which seemed like a fairly big town on the map, but we bought almost every single alcoholic beverage that the shop had.

I know we can always stock up in adenau during the festival, but i'd rather avoid this if i could.

So - any suggestions on where we can stock up on a LOT of booze in germany, or should we just get it all at one of the hypermarkets in france?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before... I went through all the pages in this topic and couldn't find anything!

On my tickets, it specifies "...und VVK". As far as my German friends can tell, this roughly translates to "and travel".

Does anyone have any clarification on this? I thought I had just bought weekend tickets with camping...

Cheers!

You should bother reading the FAQ at the beginning of this thread and then come back with any questions unanswered. AFAIK there are no maps for this year yet.

I was wrong: here is the map of the camping grounds.

@ Tink82: Where di you go shopping? Not that they compare to Hypermarkets in France, but most German supermarket are decently sized and stocked. If you want beer in cans buy it elsewhere, as there's a 25 cent deposit on them in Germany, for bottled beer Germany is better qualitywise, for liquor cheaper (you can buy it at every supermarket). If you want cider it will be cheaper in France, unless you buy the German equivalent (Apfelwein, comes in 1l bottles), which is quite bitter (but also cheap).

In smaller towns or villages it may indeed be a bit much for some supermarkets (but certainly not for all). Maybe you should look for a Getränkemarkt (a supermarket only for drinks) instead, they'll have enough for sure. What will be your route exactly, I could help you find a close one.

basically it explains the map a 2nd time. Max for zone A is 9000 ppl, for Zone B 12 000. There will be a kind of traffic light indicating whether it's full or open from far away, and it will also be indicated on the big screens next to the stage (so if you are at C and don'tz see the traffic lihts you can still go). A and B have toiletts and stands for drinks inside, so you don't lose the privilege of being in the front for using those.

Thank you very much for that man. Beer tents and toilets in the mosh? Sounds like f**king heaven brother! Out my way we have to either go thirsty and piss in a bottle or abandon our spot at festivals. Gotta love the German efficiency.

Also, in your experience, how early does zone A fill up? And do big groups of people usually leave after each act? Basically I wanna be in zone A on the last day for Pendulum and stay there for the rest of the day, so will I have to get there super early?
