Technically, a satellite is something in orbit. This was taken from one of the Voyagers, their not in orbit, they're spacecraft heading to interstellar space.

I saw this for the first time last week, that blue dot is the earth over a billion miles away taken by a satellite...

is it weird it almost made me cry? Everything to ever exist in the history of mankind, a simple pixel.

Just been reading up about it and found this part amazing,

The Pale Blue Dot was taken when the Voyager 1 spacecraft reached the edge of the solar system, 12 years after its launch and travelling at 40,000 miles per hour.

I was so really enthused about that I ended up going for a walk round my village just to find darker skies to see Saturn properly and wave.

No worries. Happy to have shared a nice thing. I haven't a clue myself about how people quantify and even understand (that is said with some doubt still in my mind) space. It blows my mind and is, quite literally, cosmic.
