Lithium05
I hope they break up and never get back together. Same goes for Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy, Fratellis, Snow Patrol, Editors, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Maximo Park, The Gossip, MGMT, The Wombats, British Sea Power, The View, Klaxons, The Ting Tings, The Cribs, The Futureheads, Hard-Fi, The Coral, Elbow and Hot Chip. Also the reveal of an Ian Brown and Morrissey child prostitution ring leading to life inprisonment for both to rule out a reunion of either of their dire former bands would also be nice. That way their music might be treated with the same disdain Gary Glitter's is these days, and all would be right with the world.

biscant
They have been climbing disgustingly high on festival line ups in recent years dispite a lack of tunes, they basically took a swing and a miss in my eyes, I was up for them being good aswell after Silent Alarm. If they continued the route of protentious mediocrity and headlined reading it would be a sad day for festivals (at least Radiohead connect with people amongst the weird noises). Kasabian are my next fear, 'Fire' is the only tune off their new album that doesn't make me cringe (like 'Where did all the love go?' or whatever) and wasn't a fail at 'original' songwriting (like 'thick as thieves'). This is just my oppinion guys, I'm skint and grumpy on a friday night.

Lithium05
And I will see to it that anything that has potential to get in the way of a Smiths or Roses reunion will be eliminated.

thomasowen
Shit... are we gonna have to fight to the death? Besides, haven't you heard? Indie's dead. Nu-metals back! Budweiser
It's really funny that you take this high minded stance that the music you like is better than the type of music you've listed... I mean if you read real culture magazines, or respected publications the type of music you like is laughed at whilst acts such as Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand and British Sea Power are very respected. Just accept that because you don't like something doesn't make it bad. Edited October 26, 2009 by Budweiser

Lithium05
Ohhhh christ! Thank you ever so much! I had never fully realised that it was solely the omnipotent NME that was driving my music taste, not any personal preference! I now see the light, thanks a bunch man. That's the last time I base my listening habits solely on a weekly magazine. Phew. Got me out of a tight one there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subjectivity Jackass. thomasowen
It's really funny that what you view this as is me taking a high minded stance. ... and if "respected publications" are "laughing at the type of music I like" (what is that by the way?) or anything for that matter, perhaps they're not as credible as they'd had you believe Besides. No way are Franz Ferdinand respected musicians, you might as well have said Scouting For Girls. I suspect you're trying to play me at my own game with outlandish suggestions like that. thomasowen
Far too challenging for me; Smash Hits before it buckled was my choice material. It's why I like all the pretty guys in ties and skinny jeans, I can stick them up on my wall and I don't even need a lyric sheet to sing along in the mirror! Franz Ferdinand 4eva! Lithium05
It's statements like that which make it so easy to realise how little you know about the current UK indie scene. Franz Ferdinand are well received by critics, Scouting For Girls are from some critics too, but probably not in the same way. They're definitely not viewed in the same league by the main population of published music journalism.
