About 12 years ago me and a mate went to Wembley Stadium for the PopMart show.

Neither of us were massive U2 fans and went on a 400 mile round trip still not decided on whether we were going to watch them or not.

When we got there the tickets were virtually worthless so we went in.

What followed was a mindblowing 2 and a half hours and the greatest stage show that has yet to be bettered (for me, of course).

So good we went to Roundhay Park in Leeds 6 days later and did it all again.

These guys WILL kick arse. I have no doubt.

Just incase anyone is interested the U2 show tonight from Sao Paulo is being broadcast live by Brazilian radio and by U2.com to subscribers

http://oifm.com.br/oi-fm/ is the address for the radio station and Sao Paulo is 4 hours behind UK time, so I figure you'd need to tune in around midnight our time!

Tis going to be a late one in the Digi household!

Just been listening to U2 for the past half hour and wow i'm so excited to see them this year. When they were announced for last year i was like eh i'll see them if no-one better is on. But after begining to listen to them more and more it will take something massive to top them. It's going to be special !

In all the excitement of getting a ticket, it's only just hit me reading this thread that not only am I going to Glastonbury but I'm going to see fecking U2 there as well!

Still one of the greatest moments from the many gigs I've been to over the years was during a U2 show at the Manchester MEN in 2001 (I think).

They played BAD and it faded out into 40 and then as the crowd sang "How long to sing this song" the into to Where the Streets Have No Name kicked in. Just brilliant.

Then again, I've also just realised that it's 22 years since I last saw them perform with BB King in Paris. So my excitement is somewhat tinged with a sudden feeling of old age.
