Slight fault in your argument with regards to blur.. Kasabian wouldn't know a good song if it hit em square in the face...

And before anyone says, I have seen em, and thought they were shite (and that was in a tiny venue called the shed in Leicester). If they can't command a stage that size, and not come across as complete tossers I can't see how it can have changed!

I'm from leicester and frankly I'm embaresed that my city is associated with such dross and would hate for you all to think that they are even in the best 100 bands in leicester.

So to summarise, kasabian always were and always will be utter dogshit live and on record.

You want PROPER performance? You shoudlve watched metallica last yr or nin the yr before.

Also coming from (near) Leicester and having seen my fair share of bands at the shed (not Kasabian, although I know many people that did) I have to say that they are representative of the local bands I often see, who are mainly lad rock, Oasis wannabees. Sorry Leicester.

In fairness Kasabian have moved on so much with their new album, if not in terms of song quality then certainly in execution, live performance and attitude. They are certainly no Metallica but it's impossible to compare a dinosaur metal band to a young rock group.

I thought it had reopened a couple of months ago? That's a shame if it's gone, because it was the only venue in Leicester that attract slightly more well-known bands.

Kevin at the Shed seemed intent on making bands bring in the punters themselves. Sumo occasionally get a few decent acts.

Tbh I always though Leicester Square could be amazing if they put more regular events on, last few years they've sporadically had gigs such as Skindred and Sepultura, baffling that they only put on gigs very rarely.

I get what you mean by the "Oasis wannabes" comment Thomas, you mean people like The Dirty Backbeats and The Screening, right?
