With regards to learning foreign languagues. I think I would start to learn before I moved to the place in question, and get to a good enough standard whereby I could make myself known. Thereafter, you learn a foreign language a lot more quickly and effectively if you immerse yourself in the local culture. For example, when I lived up North in 'Ull for three years, I knew the basics like "The sen", and "pintttamirld" but it was only when I got up there and listened to what was going on around me that I felt comfortable enough to try more challenging phrases like "British Herm Stairs" or "Beverley Rerd"

No i didn't, I didn't want to get into a huge debate with you. In this context it was derogatory, end of. You wittering on aboput gay clubs and banter was irrelevant but I have my hands full dealing with Ampersand's and CBC's and oaf's stupidity just now. Ben is currently claiming not to be racist whilst telling me that african immigrants should have a better standard of english than some people who have lived here for forty years. Im interested to see how he explains this as not dealing with one person differently to another on the grounds of race

I can reach a lot of things with this tongue. It's very flexible. Ever since it was ripped off and sewn back on, it has amazing powers of elasticity.

So now you think that they should be able to communicate without coming across as clueless - and you also know why they walk around with their head down. I'll suggest that many immigrants walk around with their heads down because of the absolute racism they have suffered at the hands of the british population, not because they cant communicate. And as for clueless - you are doing a pretty good job here it has to be said.

How are you testing whether people can do this? Have examiners walk round the streets watching how they interact? Or somethiong a little more formal?

Who is this 'we' to which you refer? Who am I making myself look a right tw*t to?

And will you please stop using the phrase 'get over...' as you clearly have no understanding what it means and it gets repetitve when you use it as many times as you do. Though, to be fair, I am going to carry on calling you idiot.
