you'll be too busy dancing to be cold :P

I did get this earlier from Colours:

Just a quick message to everyone who is traveling to Soulwax tonight. Despite the snowfall in other areas of the country, the Glasgow area has been largely unaffected by this. It is cold so make sure you pack a warm jacket for after the show, but the outlook is dry and settled. The site is having the final touches applied and its looking great.

There will be a limited number of tickets on the door tonight, so feel free to pop down if you have not already made plans.

All set times will be available on the night once we discuss this with the Soulwax tour management.

See you all down here for the BIGGEST Xmas party in town!

soulwax and 2manydjs were amazing as always. i like the new VJ thing they're doing, and they are so well dressed! they all had these amazing suits on, they were total 80's american prom suits!

i'd say it was about half full which was the best they could hope for really, the venue is far too big for them. the atmosphere was still really good despite it not being full, i think dance acts can play anywhere and always get a good atmosphere cause everyone's totally up for it.

can't really figure out why they advertised it as having two arenas. it had one arena, then a f**king hall way with a bar at one end and some speakers at the other.

jus a few points about the venue and organisation:

the outside bar was actually a good idea becuase it kept the queues out of the way, and the whole thing seemed very organised with plenty of stewards, first aid and police.

i wasn't too impressed with the tokens system for the bar, but can understand their reasons for doing it. if they were selling single tokens it would be ok but they only sold them in fours (1 token = 1 drink), me and rexclark bought 8 tokens each and used them all, i would have liked maybe one more drink but f**k paying £15 for another four tokens.

£3 to put stuff in the cloakroom was a f**king rip off, i had to get my coat back out cause it was so cold in the arena. i was jiving about in my fur coat!

the toilet queues were ridiculous. every time i went (which was like every 10 minutes cause i was on cider!) i had to wait in a queue behind about 15 people. i am sure they had other toilets that were closed off, if that was the case then that's ridiculous.

never really expected braehead to be a good venue, been there once before for a gig and didn't like it. it was alright but i hope they play the carling academy next time. i don't know if they expected a bigger crowd, or they maybe just couldn't get anywhere else booked at this time of year.

it had it's good points though, i liked the fact that it had seats so we just sat for a bit until soulwax came on, easy enough to get outside for air and the bar was never busy, and plenty of space to dance.

aye it was quite bizzare. it's folk like that that give dance music a bad reputation and make people think all dance music is for neds. they probably thought everyone would be wearing their neon stuff and boiler suits, and they just turned up looking like pure fannies cause everyone else was just dressed normal.
