Stalemate
Then they should install deep fried mars bar vending machines everywhere in Scotland. I've actually had quite a few deep fried mars bars in my time, used to have alot of em but haven't had one for years. I want one now. sifi
We've been told to clear off before it gets dark. I'd imagine that would probably write-off most of the day in Scotland, no?

amy246
In Derby the light snowfall has turned into blizzard conditions, can barely see across the road, which is also getting rather snow covered and needs re-gritting (it's a fairly main road too!) gratedenini
Been 6 days now for us. Consett is one of the highest places and it always gets pelted. I`ve had to move the TV to the other side of the room (opposite the chair you see above) to get better reception..and as you can see... my carpet is nowhere to be seen..... To those with cars... ey, yer might be finding it a bit difficult getting around etc..but I tell yer... have a thought for those without a car and with busses cancelled... trying to walk anywhere in snow as deep as this really takes its toll. Think on. den

parTy animal
A few folk in my work are meant to be working till 8pm tonight but have been told to finish at 6pm. Even at that though, some are stranded in work since buses, trains and some roads are cancelled/ closed. Also, just checked the weather for Hamilton and it predicts it to drop to -10 degree on Thursday night, which will sort out the men from the boys at football

rexclark
The snows pretty bad in Hamilton, I've been quite lucky today, I was only ten minutes late for work this morning and only one train was cancelled on the way home. Still murder trying to get to and from the train station though. parTy animal
I was supposed to be playing 5s in Hamilton on Thursday but I think it's cancelled. Probably for the best.
rexclark
Where abouts are you playing? I'm usually down the Pitz at 10-11pm but I think they guy who organizes it is going to be phoning up several times throughout Thursday to check if it's still on

t8yman
Well I'm well and truly f**ked off with this lark now. 101 schools closed round here, every f**king single one of our school deliveries have tried to cancel. all of our staff got to work, what makes teachers so f**king special that they cant get to work. I dug my car out at 4:30 and made it to work for 5:30 every single one of our vans left on time, fully loaded. This country is full of fannies. Snufflebutt
I was under the impression that the reason why a lot of the schools close is because of health and safety - in case a small child falls and their parents sue. Same reason why a lot of the football matches get postponed, despite having a perfectly playable pitch, certainly up here.
