My rash decision last night to discharge myself from hospital after an op, without any antibiotics or a sick note or anything. Cue a day of running around to local hospital and GP when I could have stayed in and got everything done there. Damn my impatience.

Now I fully subscribe to the Scott Adams Dilbert Principle that even the smartest of smartarses is capable of being the dumbest induhvidual at times (it's a great leveller), but this is possibly my worst decision ever. I mean what a dumbarse. :P

I suppose I could blame the morphine.

I've had a three day migraine, not helped by two extremely busy days at work, today is my day off, wanted a nice chilled day and a lie-in, however today is the day my dad and grandad decide to replace all the radiators! Cue me being woken up early and constant clanging, banging and the buzz of power tools - not good for headaches. And my radiator has leaked all over my floor/wall/wardrobe. :(

Not to be pedantic or owt, but I thought the Dilbert Principle concerned the backwards philosophy of many large companies promoting their least-competant employees to positions of management not because they're qualified, but to limit the damage they are capable of.

I fully subscribe to that too.

Dreading I may get the same news from my GP later. Just put up with a tooth infection for the day maybe?

Edit: Just remembered I got The QI Second Book of General Ignorance for Christmas. Pages 189-190 state:

So, I hope you're not on Metronidazole.

My new phone and Orange being completely useless!!

I bought a new PAYG phone yesterday and had £17 credit on it. Within 2 hours of getting home that £17 had vanished, though I originally put this down to me downloading a few apps. I topped up by another £10 last night and sent a few texts before going to bed. When I woke up (about 5/6 hours later) though, I found that all my credit had gone again, and now out of another £10 I put on it at 2:30pm today I've only £6.18 left. I've barely sent a dozen texts since getting the phone and yet it's cost me around £31- and to top it all off nobody at Orange can help me!

Phoned the Orange customer care number only to be told that one of the £10 top ups had failed due to my debit card being declined (a first for me) but they couldn't answer me when I asked about the other £20 credit that was paid for with cash.
