Same goes for making ANY noise in the cinema. I feel rage boiling over in cinemas most of the time - rustling those stupid bags of junk and stuffing their fat faces full of crap during the quiet scenes, and I get easily distracted by plebs nattering. Chair kickers, too. And it's adults doing it most of the time! Not kids!

Mrs Grumpyhack is very tolerant and indulges my festival going so I can't really complain but something always seems to go wrong at home the night before I set off. So I depart with feelings of guilt that I've left her at home having to cope with some problem or another.

(Mind you the guilt usually disappears as soon as I'm on site and have to concentrate on tent or caravan setting up!)

Especially on an airoplane where your trapped with them and there's no let up. I believe this is often due to the fact that babies can't equalise the pressure in the ear to adjust to the increased cabin pressure. Even knowing that they are in pain is no comfort!

Oddly enough I can tolerate kids and babies acting like kids and babies. Crying babies don't bother me. In fact I'm often told to stop giggling when I hear a child crying - the last one was on a plane and it sounded like when you pinch a ballon and let it go down. I don't know if I will make a good dad in light of this because I just laugh so much.

It's fully grown adults who behave like children that piss me off. They're infinitely worse.

I think I quoted the wrong person sorry... :P

Nice attitude... I find most people of this opinion. After all, its usually no more than a couple of hours of your life in the end.

What was "funny" was shortly after having a kid I went to South Africa for the world cup and I was looking forward to a small selfish break away from the screaming lol :) I got on the plane and a women with about a three year old got on the plane and he cried all the way to fecking Dubia... LOL

Oh well :) Felt sorry for her really and serves me right I suppose :)

I've been very lucky on my last few long haul flights and have been upgraded to Business Class (it helps to have someone on the inside). This means that I was able to sleep horizontally with the ear plugs in. It's so good in that class that the flight is actually an enjoyable part of the trip. Without the upgrade though I'd never consider flying in it as it's just too much money for a flight. God knows what they must pay in 1st class.

I think I posted this before in here. It really fecks me off. I think it shows massive disrespect when people make uneccessary noise. That covers things like chewing, slurping, chomping food and drink that can easily be eaten discreetly with minimum effort. I think that's why I hate it - it takes the bare minimum of effort and empathy to stop. It paints that person as a selfish slob.

I am so pissed off at my upstairs neighbour. He moved in about 3 months ago and we've been disturbed by completely unacceptable levels of noise every day since then.

He bangs on the floor for hours every night and morning, and all day at the weekened. The fact that he has wooden floors doesn't help (it shouldn't be allowed in flats above ground floor).

I had to go and speak to him about it when he first moved in because his kids were jumping up and down on the floor so much that the doors were shaking and swinging open in my flat, and I could hear crumbling noises coming from my ceiling as if they had broken something in between their floor and my ceiling. This went on for a whole day. The guy claimed that he hadn't even been in the house all day and that the recent noise was his kids fault.

The noise didn't improve in the slightest after I spoke to him about it. So a few weeks later, we banged the ceiling one night because the banging on the floor was ridiculously loud. Then the bastard came to our door pure shouting at us, being really aggressive, and told us that we just had to put up with the noise because we live in a flat. He then had the cheek to complain to his landlady about us as if we were in the wrong.

I am just getting so frustrated with this whole situation. I've spoken to him directly, I've asked my landlord to speak to his landlady, and I've reported him to the anti social behaviour department at the council but no one wants to help.

I don't know what else I can do now. It's driving me mad that I can't relax in my own house. I hate being in my flat because of this cretin :(
