Yeah I'm going to call them again. Noticed this as well from that link:

"If you feel your council hasn’t properly investigated your noise complaint, you can contact the Local Government Ombudsman. Follow the link ‘Making a complaint against a local council or authority’ to find out more."

So I can make a complaint about the council if they refuse to help me again.

Dont piss about. Your council should have a section that deals with anti social behaviour. Get in touch with them or you the Neighbourhood Team of your local police station. Things may be slightly different North of the border but around here you have grounds for an ASBO. If it transpires he does work for the plod he will take a visit serious as his job could end up being at risk. In the meantime keep a detailed diary.

I had problems with my neighbour for years with her doing diy at stupid o'clock and I got the police involved and she ended up with an asbo. She ended up killing herself so all was good in the end. My new neighbours are great :-)

I did contact the anti social behaviour department at the council. I received a voicemail from them about a week later saying something along the lines of "With the type of noise you have described, really just stamping feet, there isn't really anything we can do about that."

I did not say he was just stamping his feet though! I told them it was really loud banging that goes on for hours and the impact can make things in my flat shake, it's as if what he's doing is fine because he's not having parties or playing music. It's not fine for me to be distrurbed in my house for hours every day and have to sleep with ear plugs in otherwise it keeps me awake at night and wakes me up in the morning.

If I contact the police I don't think it will be taken seriously, even if they came out and heard the noise for themselves, they might think it doesn't sound that bad. It's the fact that it happens every day that's driving me mad.

It's actually starting to really upset me, I can't cope with this noise every day and I feel like no one will help me, I fucking hate this guy. :(

Don't take no for an answer. Your local neighbourhood bobby should listen. If he does not, make a complaint. Similar with the council, make a complaint. I would even get in touch with your councillor over this as well. If the guy ever throws cause at you or becomes aggressive 999 it. Unfortunately you often need to kick up a fuss to get listened to to but stick with it. In my case I really went to town telling people how it was affecting my mental health, which it was. What you do have to realise is you may be in this for the long haul but stick with it. Easier said than done I know.

The local councillor is someone I know so I could speak to her about it if the council don't help once I've contacted them again.

When he came to my door going mental at me, I should have just kept my mouth shut and called the police. But I think it's just instinct to stand up for yourself, so I shouted back at him. I'll just be calling the police straight away if he does it again.

Are your places rented? If so do you know his landlord details? They could be passed onto your councillor. It is a long shot but another avenue to complain.

When I had problems with my neighbour no one took me serious at first as she was a woman. I had to call the police one night when she was ranting. A copper said you cant be scared of her and I just said "what do you want me to do? Twat her?"

Neighbour above me and her little girl living above my current flat (Edinburgh) tirelessly stomp around their flat. I think the mother has OCD as they are constantly hoovering and opening and shutting drawers and moving furniture around all day. The little girl runs around the flat and the mother stomps around on her heels - they sound like a couple of T-Rexs. It starts at around 630 in the morning and doesn't stop until past midnight. Every day. Good. I didnt want to sleep anyway.

They are now playing piano (badly) and singing. And stomping - always stomping, that's part of every activity. They never sit down. Up and down the flat.

Their diary must read: Did some more stomping today. Stomp stomp stomp. Stood still for a bit. Back to stomping. Stomp stomp stomp. Stood over there for a few seconds. Disliked being there after two seconds. Stomp stomp stomp. Stomped over to the window for a bit. Stomp stomp stomp. I love walking on my heels and dropping things. A lot. Stomp stomp stomp. Sat down for two seconds, put the TV on for a bit at maximum volume. Much prefer stomping to be honest. Time for piano! Got bored of piano, back to stomping. midnight now, better get the Hoover out. "I love noise! Noise is fun!" That's the song I sing whenever I make my daily noise. I like to sing. Sunday tomorrow, better get up early for more hoovering, stomping, piano, singing and dragging large things about. This is all I do and I love it. I just love the feel of the floorboards as they shatter like crisps under my foot. Oh and the downstairs neighbour knocked on my door earlier about something but I didn't pay much attention, I was daydreaming about stomping around my lovely wooden floors some more. I think he wanted me to make more noise, which is whst I was planning on anyway. I'm off my tits on noise. 2:00am now. Time to stomp off to bed - set alarm for 6:30 to repeat this all again tomorrow. Just realised its been a couple of hours since I last hoovered the flat, so will do a quick once over before popping on my PJ's and getting into my fucking cocoon".

They are not human.

Good thing I move out on Wednesday.

Oh now they've started hoovering. And hammering? And now the child is yelling snd crying. Oh its singing. She could at least improve week on week. Sunday fucking morning and it's a combo of piano and hoovering. This is new. "Coming round the mountain when she comes", only butchered with mistakes. It's like they've realised that they can combine their noise powers and work together, like a shit Power Rangers. Couldn't make it up.

PLEASE DIE.

It's awful isn't it? I posted a few pages back about my upstairs neighobur who is an absolute cretin.

This is what I don't get, how he can stamp around for hours without a break. Who the fuck walks around their house/flat for hours every day without sitting down? It makes no sense.

I also hear the dragging noises, as if he's moving furniture around, or maybe he keeps his drawers on the floor. Whatever it is, it's fucking annoying.

He's had the washing machine on every day this week as well, no idea why he's suddenly felt the need to wash stuff everyday, maybe he shits the bed or something. But why the fuck did he have to wait until 11pm last night to put the washing machine on? I know he's in the house earlier than that because I can hear him stamping around.

He is so selfish and inconsiderate, it's ridiculous. He doesn't give a fuck about how much noise he's making or what time of the day it is. The thing that makes it even more annoying though, is that everyone else in the building seems ok, we live on quite a nice street, but the only arsehole in the building just has to live above us.

We'll be moving out at some point this year and I can't wait. I need to think of something I can do to really piss him off just before we move though.

EDIT: I can also hear him shouting at his kids. I bet they love going to stay with Daddy at the weekends, so they can stay in the house all day and be shouted at.

nasty stuff when you actually see what he did. Fair enough he only kicked out at a bit of wood but the fella's leg was pretty badly cut and they couldn't do anythying other that disqualify him. I feel sorry for the folk that forked out for tickets.

so I saw on the TV news earlier, some smart-arse has reported the player to the old bill for assault.

Not sure how he can wiggle out of that one really given what the TV pictures show (bleeding leg, etc), unless the old bill decide it's only worthy of a caution because it's not the injured umpire who's made the complaint.

could it be the injured line-judge reporting him?

possibly, but the TV report suggested it wasn't.

I wasn't paying much attention, but also saw pictures of the player stood by the chair as the umpire hobbled back to it, so presumably there was an apology made which I presume was accepted. It's not like the umpire is going to be crippled for life or anything.

On TV it didn't look as though his apology to the umpire was particularly heart felt. And the umpire certainly didn't seem to be particularly accepting of it. That's from reading body language though.

By all accounts the guy's a bit of a prick. This is not the first time he's been disqualified from a match for throwing his toys out the pram

Upstairs is hoovering again. It's been 2 fecking days since the last vacuuming. OCD, it must be.

Even though she runs around the flat a lot, I feel sorry for the little girl. She doesn't seem to have a life. She gets taken to school and then spends her free time in a top floor flat with her mum yelling at her and making her play piano. She gets taken to school at the weekends too. It just seems like a shit childhood, all discipline bordering on obsession and no fun. I feel reluctant in mentioning this at all but they're oriental, Chinese I think - so it could be a cultural thing. I have a few Chinese friends who are workaholics and confuse professionalism with obsession a lot of the time. There must be some sort of cultural aspect to this kind of behaviour. Maybe that's a racist assumption, but I'm just going on observed traits.

I know that's none of my business but they're advertising their life via intrusive noise I can't help but notice.

Oh well fuck it I'm gone tomorrow only one more night of bullshit.
