Things that annoy you ?

Any c**t that runs a red light, especially when it is to just get a few feet further in the traffic jam.

When at crossings, especially when with the kids, if someone runs through the see light I have been known to really kick off. I have pushed cyclists and motorcyclists off their bikes, I have kicked out at cars and vans, I have taken numbers and reported them and I have even run down the road after them. Once I jumped on someones bonnet, another I tried to drag the driver out, but once I say the car parked that had nearly hit us so I thought I would run over it and went through the sunroof.

For me it is a wider issue. I feel really sorry for young kids nowadays. The main reason we did not let the kids play out or go to school on their own was the increase in traffic. I have never bought in to the idea of masses of paedos in every bush but have seen the roads become more unsafe. A few years back I visited the estate I was brought up. Opposite my house used to be a wide close with 2 grass verges over 14 ft wide on either side. The estate was in a circle and had 4 closes going off like this. I do remember being allowed out to play with all the other kids before I had even started school. (Ffs I was able to walk the mile and a half to school with my 9 year old sister when I was 6. We relied on lollipop ladies to get across the main road and we were not the only kids). When I went back all there greens had been tarmaced over to provide parking. It really was a sad sight. One thing I always remember is the pound of kids playing, or shouting or fighting, along with the bellowing voices of parents shouting their kids in, or those of the grumpy bloke on the corner threatening the kids as they have kicked the ball in his radishes (I have been that bloke myself). I am under on illusion that if the car parking spaces where returned to green play areas kids would suddenly throng outside. I think I would be tempted by a 360 but the value of the loss those spaces cannot be underestimated.

I guenuinely think it may have been nicer back then. Everythings so rushed now and our lives are inextricably linked with computers. Then again I have nieces and nephews who seem to be enjoying their youth. Maybe it's just me being nostalgic.

I'm 28 and I feel old.It amazes me the lack of intelligence amongst today's youth.Someone at work the other week thought the second world war was during the 19th century and that custard was made from bananas because it is yellow.

Genuinely saddened when I hear comments like this.

Bad and selfish parking really annoys me as well.

So, those double yellow lines don't count for you then mate? You just park where you like, do you? Never mind the fact that you are turning a two lane road into a one lane road by just dropping off that DVD to Blockbusters/your child to school and are probably the main cause of congestion on the one way system that dictates the traffic flow in our small town. Turning on your hazard lights does not make it legal. If you ever see coppers or traffic wardens doing this, take a photo and report them.

And, whilst I'm on a selfish drivers rant: People who don't indicate. Like selfish parkers, it's usually professional drivers such as police, taxis and delivery white van men who are guilty of this. Same rules apply.

Also, my grammar nazi is annoyed. It's "their" child, and you parked "there".

People parking in the Parent and Child sections without a child or with a child over five or so...

The worse is when someone who parks their with an empty child car seat. Utter w*nkers. They know how difficult it is getting young ones out of the car in a normal parking space, as they have one, yet they couldn't give a flying fuck about others and just choose to use the car seat as a priority pass.

You shouldn't feel old at 28. That's far too early to feel old. Don't squander your time thinking that way as there's plenty of time later to justifiably feel old. I only really started feeling old at about 45! But then again I was always a bit remedial!

I'm 52, and I've started wondering if I should tone myself down a bit. I have my son's graduation ceremony to go to - he's qualified as a clinical psychologist, so most of his year will be around 30. So the parents will likely be in their 50's.

And I'm wondering how they'd cope with a middle aged woman with bright copper orange hair. I've had to buy a nice conservative top to wear with smart trousers, and I'm thinking of putting a temporary rinse on my hair to tone down the orange.

That's old - when you start worrying what other people might think :(

I used to worry about what others might think when I was much younger. I find it very much less the case as I get older.

Do you really want to tone down your hair? Has your son said anything in that direction? I suspect you'd be doing it for him rather than anybody else in the room, and if he doesn't mind then why do it?

I hope he says you should be who you are - especially given his vocation. I don't have bright hair but I try not to be too conservative as it's far too boring. That said, I act conservative at work (mostly) but that's ok with me there as it's appropriate that I am.

When your kids have grown up I cant think of a better time to be who you want to be and who you are. I know my kids feel that about me and I am certain the same will be with yours.

I have had some awkward moments with parents of boy/girlfriends already and the kids want me to be myself.
