Things that annoy you ?

How so few people under the age of 30 genuinely seem to give a f**k about how much we've been screwed over regarding jobs. After a big push of getting youth into university in numbers and putting them in thousands of pounds of debt, all there is is shite jobs - supermarkets, fast food, call centres and with no real hope of finding much better. There's always off shore work but there's only so many jobs and being away from home for weeks at a time on the same place isn't for anyone.

I work with loads of people my age looking for new jobs and applying for tens of jobs each fortnight or so, why isn't there proper f**king protests and petitions and any kind of action over how f**king shitty things have gotten when all you can find work is that is at best underpaid and mind numbing, or at work soul destroying and dehumanising?

I went to Uni as I enjoyed what I was studying plus in my area there were plenty of graduate positions.

Good for you for earning plenty, but for many they're stuck with either a shit job or no job, in my area there's been lots of redundancies and you're lucky if there's ten jobs a week in the local paper. An 'I'm alright, Jack' attitude is rather insensitive to say the least.

I spent another night last night getting verbal abuse from drunks, when you had good reason to believe that there was something halfway worthwhile at the end it's utterly soul destroying.

Are you suggesting that university is simply a careerist option? I've had a brilliant four years, studying a subject and putting off the inevitable bore of full time employment (that I've yet to get into :P ).

And would I like a job paying £15k with next to no stress or one at £30k where they want every pound of flesh? I reckon I'd take the one with less stress. Different strokes and all.

I have a totally shit, unchallenging job at the moment, although i have just been given a promotion that will take effect in january which will be a big step up. my package is 30k atm including travel allowance. There aren't many jobs in london that pay less than 20 - 25k per annum, in officey/administration type roles.

Its not about the money for me i just want the challenge of a new job. I was soo happy last year when i got to really stretch myself and i wasn't being paid any more for it even though it was a 40k a year role i was doing.
