oafc0000
so yeah, much cheaper if you're comparing it to lessons, and you have a good person to learn with. unfortunately, i didn't. my mum was hopeless when we went out. as was i. RABun
you can rent them at arnold clark for a lot cheaper than lessons actually. that would be a much better plan if you're willing to spend the time with him.

jump
aye it's so much money for lessons! i've been thinking of learning to drive because i think it would be easier for me to find jobs. but i don't think i can afford it. even if i got someone else to pay the lessons, the insurance would be really high for a new driver. and then there's the cost of a car.. aaaargh! oafc0000
The insurance might not be so high for you if you are female and over 21? Its awful rfor younger boys, as they are the highest risk. But if you go third party F & T, it could be managable? RABun
I started looking at some quotes for me... in my 30's, male and no matter which car I look at its about £800 third party Thats just f**king stupid If I pass then I will just getting named on the wife's company car I don't want to drive... Just doing it to give the wife break having to always drive...
oafc0000
the way to do it is to make your wife the main driver and have yourself as a named driver. you wont build up any no claims discount with most insurers but it will be cheaper. also even by putting in a named driver to your own policy it can sometimes make it cheaper. Don't ask me why but it does work. I spent years with my ex hubby and then my mum swapping policies about to get the best price.
RABun
I was making no assumptions as to who would actually be the main driver and i also said even adding a named driver to your own policy can make it cheaper. If you don't need a car where you are the main driver because you said you only want to take some of the pressure off wifey, then you wouldnt be breaking any laws would you? RABun
Sorry ... I got the impression you was doing that for your son... In my case its totally fine and above board so no problem there. Just thought you might want to know if you was doing that for your kid.
Pogues Mcgogues
I think I could hit on by some old bloke. I was sitting and he came and sat next to me. He said 'Terrible day to wear a kilt isn't it?' and I said 'yeah' politely. He then asked if I'd ever worn a kilt and I said I had to my school prom. He then asked if I knew the right way to wear it, with no underpants underneath and asked if that's how I wore mine....I replied 'No' and he smiled and slapped my thigh with his hand. He was so old too, you guys need to stop this 'pogo's gay rumour' cause it's well catching on in Hamilton!

Lot's of folk I know when I mention this kinda stuff previously are like 'yeah phone me next time, well up for it, etc'. When I get round to wanting to do it it's like 'nah man', 'maybe another time'. Lazy bastards!
