Leaving on Sunday from campervan field

Hi all,

Its been well over 10 years since i was last at Glastonbury, now my boy is 7 its time to take him. We plan on staying in the east family campervan field if theres space, not arriving till Thursday lunch time. I have seen the threads regarding leaving the car parks, but not the campervan field. To my horror earlier i was reading a thread stating some campers were almost rammed bumper to bumper when parked. Is this going to happen to me if i arrive 'late'?

The reason for wanting to leave early is to avoid the jam and not make my drop off time for van. Cant afford another day hire in advance or the fine.

p.s as a side question, i have seen the option of coach travel, do they not get stuck in the same traffic jam's ? And another question, we live in Southampton, anybody know of cheap hire our way you can recommend (i have a quote of £500 so far)?

Campervans are not parked bumper to bumper to bumper (if that makes sense) - there is always an access route to get out through

They are parallel parked and sometimes tightly, or parked bumper to bumper - but with enough space to reverse out into the access (fire lane)

Presumng they have more than one (wouldn't want to pinch yours!), I really would appreciate knowing who is offering you the van for £500. I am still in two minds about chickening out of camping! Apart from helping me out, I seem to remember hiring a van from the Southhampton area for about that amount, a couple of years ago and it was a terrible rip off (broke down etc) so while I guess its a long shot, I'd like to tip you off if its the same company.
