Opening Car Parks on Tuesday Eve?

Apologies if already asked... but any news on this? I wanna get there early Wednesday but i'll be buggered if i'm sleeping in my car Tuesday Eve to get a good spot. I guess if this happens people who get there Wednesday morning may need to camp quick.

The festival will be having discussions with the council about this sometime in March, as told to eFestivals by Melvin Benn less than a month ago.

Until they have those discussions it's not known if it's happening or not.

I've had a look at the licence application, and they've requested that the car parks open at 9pm tuesday, with the camper van fields open at noon on tuesday.

But the gates to the festival proper still won't open until 8am on Wednesday.

Of course the authorities might say no.

If this happens (inc. car parks early opening), queues at the ped gates Wednesday morning are going to be enormo. I'd guess at least 5,000 each at PGC and PGD, but maybe double that.

Love it - camper fields open a full day early - It would make the Tuesday pm just like the old Wednesday -nice and empty and time to explore - but I guess we wouldnt be allowed on site - so just chill by the campers - good enough for me

CV fields open on Tuesday lunchtime? Perfect, we were going to drive down Tuesday and camp somewhere nearby or stay in a hotel in Bristol as our campervan is just too slow for us to get there at a reasonable time on Wednesday and not good when sitting idling in a queue for hours on a hot day, this would be perfect for us!

which is why the campervans should have a separate entrance gate - they've no need to dash into the festival to get that 'perfect pitch'!

It does raise an issue though of more campervans arriving with tents and awnings and wanting more space than usual.

Once parked up the day, why would you want to 'dash' straight in the second the gates open? For the first few hours there's not much open, many stalls etc are still setting up.

So its looks like it will be a waiting game until March to see if the CV fields open on Tuesday??

That's annoying as I need to know asap about booking extra time off work and whether or not to book campsite near to the site for Monday or Tuesday night depending on when they open the CV field!!!!!
