Kendal Calling 2010

Yeah...makes a big difference to your weekend. Our lot normally stays up til the small hours drinking and talking...but at IOW we were surrounded by absolute tools, puking over the sides of the tent, randomly chucking cans over bits of the campsite etc etc. No need to ruin somebodies elses weekend whilst enjoying your own

Got very high hopes for Kendall though!!!

Next few weeks should be interesting...got quite a lot to still be announced given its only 5 weeks away!!!

Went to Kendal with two daughters last year (ages 10 & 17 and we all really enjoyed it,

Enough to see without being Glasto big (not that I'd say no to Glasto), if fact it was the younger one who asked if we'd be going again this year.

Like anything there were a few knobs, and it was only a few, everyone else was really friendly, especially when you have kids in tow, (although your 16 y.o. sis might not like being referred to as a kid)

Just one tip, last year we camped in line with the Welfare Tent, who were a luvverly crew, but I'm getting too old for the 24-hour sound system.

Pop by and say 'hello', all being well, we'll be the ones with the 'Camp Thumbs' flag.

see you in the fields,

tommy

btw,

the guy who post on here, Naarjtie, and the Kendal Calling website itself have been really good with answering any questions I have raised in the past.

Can anyone give me the official line on whether you can take camping stoves & disposable bbq's?? I can't find any info on the official website. We take them to V every year and there is never a problem.

I need to know to plan money etc as normally take breakfast stuff and need a few cuppas in the morning!!

Thanks

How little is your little sister? They have family camping if she is a young one.

Last year there was quiet camping but it was neither signposted very well or any quietness enforced (don't know how they'd do this anyway) so it's pretty much non-existant.

The main campsites are lively at times but not too much in your face as the arena stays open until the wee hours. Really it's just small groups of people having a drink/laugh/chilling around their tents. I managed to get some quality sleep, which is always a bonus :D

Are Chai Wallahs going to be there as it's listed on their website but I've conflicting news! Be good if they are! Also on the Thursday is there a cut off on entry or is it manned all night? I'm coming up after work and not sure what time I'll arrive.

Thanks,

Scruggsy

I'm finding the new style pretty but a nightmare for my old cranky computer. All the pop-up blocking send it into meltdown the minute I open the site. :(

Anyway, is there any way you can tell me what day British Sea Power are on pretty please? A friend can only come for one day & that's the band he really wants to see. If we wait for the timetable you'll prob be sold out.

PM me if it's top secret - promise not to spread the word ;)

Quick question,

First Kendal festival, really looking forward to it. Is the arena set up like Leeds/ V etc where you are searched before you get into see the bands ? Or is it like Glasto where you can carry your beer around with you all day ?

Just need to know so I can budget enough cash and know how much beer to bring

Cheers
