Flaminglippy
I actually dont think its the bands that are the problem. If you notice on here the majority of people who moan about the bands seem to be the regular festival goers as opposed to the people who are going to V for the first time. I just think that the general festival circuit (not just v!!) has got so repetative now that the people who have gone 2 v,glasto,r & l etc. have seen the likes of kol and kasabian that many times that we just want somebody a bit different! I like both of them but the thought of watching them live...again is just dissapointing. But unfortunatley this wont change for a few years because as lucky says they book the bands that are most popular in the charts and to people who haven't gone to festies or gigs the last few years its fantastic news to them! Im thinking a few years off the big festies is needed
jordanuk90
I'll put my neck on the line and say KOL will not play a UK festival this year! Another thing is this must be the only rumour that doesn't have Greenday rumoured for Leeds
Chapcharlie
To be fair, if they do for Kings Of Leon I think thats pretty brave. Not many UK festivals would have a non-English speaking headliner.

jordanuk90
Neil [efestivals] has already said repeatedly he believes V's headliners are Kasabian and Kings of Leon, so thats efestivals, News of the World, NME, sources from people on here and every other media and source all wrong whilst no other alternatives have been mentioned at all by anyone who isn't guessing? Kings of Leon and Kasabian are the headliners

jordanuk90
Haha funny guy. But i wasn't moaning, i just find it so funny that people moan all day on here about the V Lineup, just go to another festival haha!
luckysalt
Just been announced for Bonnaroo festival in the USA, mid June [same weekend as Rockness, IOW, Download] so they're back doing shows and fests again Bonnaroo got quite the decent line up, and they're doing it in an interesting way, every five minutes they announce a new act on twitter http://twitter.com/bonnaroo So far theres the likes of Kings of Leon, Jay Z, Tenacious D, Flaming Lips, Tori Amos, Clutch, The Dead Weather, Black Keys, Jimmy Cliff, The xx & loads more Makes me think if Jay Z is doing IOW and this festival the same weekend, maybe Kings of Leon might be the Sunday headliner at IOW? That would take the gloss off their appearence at V and hopefully Download will get Tenacious D as well

luckysalt
Id bet hard rock calling but they wont announce it until after v have announced first. Same thing happened with the killers before. Shame v dont appear to have any exclusives again this year, lets hope they have some surprise bookings

kent1974
Kings Of Leon are headlining the Saturday 3rd July Wireless Festival at Hyde Park. They have basic details on the 02 Blueroom page. Pre sale tickets go on sale this Wednesday (17th Feb) Thought it would have been Hard Rock Calling but the date they have is the middle date for Wireless On the 02 Blueroom site says it starts at 7pm. Maybe it isn't part of Wireless after all Edited February 16, 2010 by kent1974

matty92
Does there own gig at Hyde park make them less likely for V or still pretty much nailed on? I know bands can do big shows and festivals in the same year, but if they are still going to be at V I won't bother with trying to get tickets for Hyde Park. theramm
Just the same as last year. Oasis had done a huge stadium gig across the UK & The Killers did Hyde Park.

ivan
Theres two months between the Hyde Park gig and V. In saying that the Hyde Park thing is on sale nearly two weeks before V so will have sold out before V goes on sale, which'll probably mean that the people who don't get Hyde Park tickets will get V tickets. Looks like if you wanted to see either of the likely headliners for V this year you'll have ample opportunity... Still hoping for the Arctics...
