Reading Local
I had a look at NME in the shops this morning and from what I can remember this is what the article said - For Glastonbury it was basically saying how The Rolling Stones had taken the unusual thing of coming out & saying that they weren't playing Glastonbury, in addition to the already confirmed U2, said that Muse were likely to the second headliner that they were going to announce early in the new year and other bands they mentioned for Glastonbury were MGMT, Dizzee Rascal...can't remember who else For V Festival it said Kasabian would be one headliner and that KOL would end their hiatus this year by being the other headliner For T / Oxegen it said that in addition to the already announced Kasabian as one headliner, they were also looking at Muse & Green Day to fill the other slots For Download they said that Them Crooked Vultures would be playing the opening night and that AC/DC & Van Halen would also be playing there For Sonisphere - they had about Soundgarden playing there For Reading & Leeds - they mentioned the bit about Blink already confirming German festivals the weekend before thus giving a hint that they were also going to play R&L, also said about MCR & Green Day being 2 of the headliners Mentioned about Wireless trying to get Eminem to play at that Finally they also mentioned the bit about Rage Against The Machine and the free gig in the UK this year/summer with regards to getting the xmas number 1 single & how that UK festival promoters were apparently as well also trying to convince them to stay around as well for some of the UK festivals Edited January 13, 2010 by Reading Local
jordanuk90
I saw MCR at Reading 2005 in the tent and they were mint Dunno how their main stage performance went though a couple of years later
luckysalt
I think that would be the best place for MCR headlining NME Edited January 13, 2010 by luckysalt
Vieuphoria
not going to be The Strokes.
gr4h4m
really really can not see both my chemical romance and green day headlining both have similar fan bases, same goes for blink.
Budweiser
They're too big though now Id say for them to accept that slot I think its gunna be Green Day and My Chemnical Romance as two of the headliners and Blink subbing one of them, and another headliner but who Ive no idea, it HAS to be an indie act IMO but I don't know who it could be. An outside bet is Pixies returning, they're playing festival in Europe this year. And if it isn't them it's gunna be The Strokes, there just is a huge lack of big indie bands doing the rounds, It could be The Strokes and Pixies infact

anothernumber
I don't think Blink will headline cos didn't Melvin say in the interview with efestivals that he booked the headliners at this years festival, in person. Blink had US shows that weekend so that would suggest they're not headlining.

anothernumber
Wasn't what he said something along the lines of that he had booked the healiners at or before the festival. He never said he had done it in person, nor that it was all three of the headliners?
VCK
If the two headliners are MCR and Green Day then I reckon the third headliner will be a "less heavy" act. To kinda balance it out, if you know what I mean. ...R.E.M.?
Role Model
that would make up for MCR headlining. well maybe it wouldnt, but it would still be amazing. still seems like hope based on nothing though, still, always nice to hope. Lithium05
Green Day won't play. Bands doing stadium shows don't headline Reading the same summer! Unless they've changed that this year, it won't happen. This could well be right, and if I'm honest I'm all for it. REM would be my dream headliner, but it won't happen this time. gr4h4m
I doubt it will be but it would make sense to book them for different days, means people would be more likely to buy weekend tickets rather than day tickets.
rexclark
but even then I still can't see all three headlining each day

fatally_yours
the last time blink played reading/leeds, they subheadlined, since they had a double sell out uk stadium tour for their selft titled album and been on hiatus for 4 years, so there's an incredible amount of people out there that will buy tickets to a festival just to see blink! definate headliners if they're going to play.
