I hope they play and i reckon they would probably sub headline, something tells me everyone is missing a really big headliner no idea who though

If Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance are playing for sure, and then theres word of Green Day, theres just not room.

They would HAVE to headline main stage, there's no other option at all. They're HUGE. Maybe 2011, although Id believe they'd sign up to Sonisphere next year as headliner

By the way someone ages ago said the sonisphere line up on the soni forum and said System of a Down were gunna play. Theres still 6 sonisphere festivals to be announced this year. Theres absolutely tons of European festivals they can do, and if they have signed on as headliner for those six they could in theory play not as a headliner at UK sonisphere but still pick up a huge fee for all the dates.

In the future Sonisphere is gunna have the best pick of the acts because they can arrange said bands European tour dates throughout the whole of Europe all summer. One contract, huge money, all countries served.

What the f**k was Chop Suey? That was HUGE, and still gets played loads today

Also BYOB was pretty big tune as well, theres chavs who work at my place who hate Rock but know both those songs and Ive caught them singing them in the past!

System of a down are a huge band worldwide, but not a huge band in britian. They are huge in metal circles but not really in the mainstream indie/rock circles. In fact thinking now I suspect if they did headline they would be the lowest selling band ever to be given the slot, can people think of any smaller bands?? Ok they may have signature songs but the kaiser chiefs have 5 songs better well known than any of soad and they didnt headline. System of a down have done nothing significant to move up the bill since their last slot. People will say they will move up because of the anticipation of them coming back, however there is no real history of this hapening to other bands at the festival.

They would headline reading no questions asked, they're huge worldwide.

...that's bullshit, serj has his own project and so does the rest of the band, i don't think has anything to do with it.

Chop Suey was their most well known song but it was hardly huge. Sex on fire was huge. Killing in the name was huge, I don't think SOAD have a crossover song like that.

Its played on kerrang radio a lot overnight.

Of course they can headline. If the argument is people only know a couple of songs there isntr going to be many headliners. You can rule out soundgarden, tcv etc etc. It seems people want metallica, foos and the likes every year they know the songs of those bands.
