coach or train

hi all i have been looking at coach travel from newcastle to the festival but i think ill go by train i looked and said prices to be released in april anyone know how much its gonna cost me by train

I can only assume it'll be a similar price to the same journey in March. Which is a whopping £134. Coach from Newcastle is £76.50

Ask at your local station what it would cost to buy a ticket on the day. Travelling from Leamington, I found that it was the same price as booking a week in advance, and had the advantage of not tying me to an exact train (what if I miss it on the way home?)

I think when choosing between train or coach, it's a matter of working out what the entire journey will be like - including travel to the train/coach station, all changes, and the Castle Carey -> Glasto shuttle, and picking the one that looks easiest. Adjusting to account for cost, of course.

I live in Leamington, so for me getting the coach would involve starting out by getting the train to Birmingham. It just doesn't work. If you can get to the coach departure point easily, you're probably better off going by coach.

ty for replies i was thinking train might be quicker so i might give them a ring just to compaire but like you say its all gonna be busy

P.S. when comparing times, add an hour to the train time, to account for the shuttle from Castle Carey + queuing for it. It might end up being quicker, or something could go wrong and it could be slower, but I reckon an hour is a decent estimate.

It depends what you can afford but after the traffic jams in 2009 I am avoiding the coach
