Workers Beer 2010

Are workers beers company still doing the bars for 2010? I heard somewhere that their agreement was up in 2009 but can't find anything about it?

Hmm, yes. I misread it.

The details of the contract are complicated but I have not heard anything about GFL intending not to take out a new contract or extending the current contract .

It all has to be sorted out well in advance and while the WBC may not post any update on their site the license has to be applied for well in advance.

I am a WBC Organiser and I expect that next month the WBC will send out its annual calendar with Glastonbury included.

As Michael Eavis has always been a great supporter of the WBC I cant see him ditching his principles and going for a commercial Company.

Brian I think it was the Wednesday mate, maybe the Thursday.

I know a lot of the WBC management cause obviously we used to do the security for them. Still see a few of them at other festivals too

Hi Paul yes I was working in what the WBC calls the Village Bar inside the WBC Campsite at Reading.

Part of my Team was working Reading

and a larger amount of My Team working at Leeds { as they live in Leeds }

I hope it was the Sunday party which in my experience was the best end of year Party I have been to.

By Sods law I started overheating one hour before the end hence I was not able to stay for a drink.

You should have pulled me aside - does not matter how busy it is I will always have time to speak to you.

Can you recall the time/date and who served you { Note 1 }

For 2010 I will be working in the Village Bar at each large event as it does look that I will have to repeat the treatment in 2010 { pain in the bum but better to be safe than sorry }

By the way the WBC Campsite and possibly the the wee sports centre is due a makeover for 2010 as I was speaking to the sports centre Chairman who has had all the plans approved.

ps - I have still to upload a load of images taken at Latitude and Reading - its just finding the time to do it.

Note 1 As they only needed me late at night it was unfair to the rest of the Team to have them working late shifts so I arranged for them to work normal shifts in a normal bar until the Sunday night.
