Alot of the argument on year can be settled with.......Yeah well my dad's bigger than your dad!

If Glastonbury has all this stuff you have mentioned surely you're going to be atleast a little disappointed because you didn't get to do everything you wanted?

In fairness, while Glasto is obviously lightyears ahead, even Download is a better festival than Reading due to the fact that they actually have things to do after the bands finish that go deeper than a completely shit silent disco. Reading, for all intents and purposes finishes when the bands do. Ergo, it is much like a gig in a field with camping.... only there's more c*nts than you'd get at a gig.

I'll do what I think the comparisons are between Reading and T in my opinion having been to both around 10 times each.

Costs are about the same but at Reading you get in on the Wednesday plus it has 3 full days of the arena being open, with every stage open too.

Location I would say Reading is better, it's right next to the town so Tesco, pubs, shops are all within 10 minute walks from the site.

Atmosphere I would say T probably has the better crowds who are more up for it. Too many idiots especially on the Sunday night at Reading.

Ethos, well they are just both huge commerical events out to make as much money as possible. At least FR seem to listen to their punters and implement ideas from the fan forums etc.

Facilities are pretty much the same on both sites, though as said there is definately more after arena shuts entertainment at Reading.

Line up is always subjective, both attract big acts every year.

Definately a younger crowd at Reading, you can tell this on the Sunday nights :P

Reputation, well Reading has being going for twice as long as T and is probably more well known for this. Also managing to sell out two sites of approx 85,000 on each site speaks for itself

I'd say R/L has more diverse crowd than T based on line ups.

Greater variety of entertainment on offer - Cinema Tent, Comedy Tent, Lock Up, Action Aid plus others not including the main stages.

Thing is although I agree slightly, TITP has the fastest UK sellout record. It is vastly popular because it has no competition.

Then also look at this site - TITP has 90,000 posts, Reading and Leeds combined have 105,000

I'd say R&L are better(even though I ain't been)but TITP is more popular.

How on earth can you say Reading and Leeds is better when you haven't been? I haven't been to T so I won't even guess as to how good it is (even though I know a lot about it). Also you can't judge which is more popular cos at the end of the day they both sell out the ticket allocation.
