United Nations of Sound?

Knew he'd have some new stuff out this year, and here's the first of it. Richard Ashcroft has formed a new band called 'United Nations of Sound' and the video for the first song 'Are You Ready" is featured on the NME website here http://www.nme.com/news/richard-ashcroft/49290/

Personally I think it's decent, I've always been a Verve / Ashcroft fan - what's everyone's thoughts? Any chance of these playing? I'd say possibly as they'd want to build their profile now as a new band! And an album is due in March...!

I reckon these are a real possibility, obviously on a smaller stage but I'm sure there will be a fair few who will be keen to see what these have got?

The Verve were brilliant in 2008!

Hmm would be interested in seeing him again but unsure where they would play, don't think he's ego could take a lower stage.

Never saw the verve but saw him headline v when the verve originally split up and was very good.

Yeah...that would be great. Was a bit dubious about the Verve reforming after seeing them the first time round but they were fantastic at V last time (despite the rain!)

Don't think it would have to be too small a stage...given the fact both Ashcroft on his own and the Verve have headlined V previously no reason why they couldn't head up the Channel 4 stage or high up on the first (can't see him on the Kasabian day...that would just be weird)

Very good chance they'll play V and it's followers are Ashcroft fans

its a new band, heard about it the other day. Could be at v, could headline nme tent at reading, they love artists side projects in that slot

Sounds good, The Verve were quality in 2008, they were the reason I went.

Would love to see Ashcroft there this year, mid on main stage?

The NME headline tent at R&L is a good shout but I do think this is a high rank on V's mainstage just because of Ashcrofts draw

Just saw their video, was pretty good, had a early Charlatans feel to it

Would be good in the Arena tent, a run of Ian Brown, Charlatans, United Nations of Sound

Dunno where they would want to be put on the line up, as they're a new band but have a big name frontman

Maybe they could headline the Union actually
