scottt
Strangely happy about this. Everything off the second album was quality, and The Black Parade had some decent songs on it too
soundrevolution
Blink, Green Day and MCR Could that really happen at R&L?
Lithium05
If anyone didn't see this coming they're in some serious denial. I don't care either way, I'd probably even watch them if there are no better options Edited January 20, 2010 by Lithium05

rexclark
I've came to terms with the fact that rarely will there be a headliner that I will be very happy with, the last being The Smashing Pumpkins. I don't worry about it, normally there'll be something on another stage. If MCR headline I can't say I'd be bothered either way. If there was no one else on I'd definately go see them. Mr Kennedy
Id really like to see them live, Not sure about headlining the festival but playing in general would be great
kev1664
they are way too similar to all headline. be good if all played on same day MCR blink then greenday. imo be a dull festival if they all headlined main stage.
2reese2
I think mcr might be nme headliners

sward24
Headlining NME is possible, they said they want to play some smaller venues so I see no reason why they wouldn't play the NME. http://www.nme.com/news/my-chemical-romance/49337

King101
I think they're far too big to be considered for NME headliners - they've sold out arenas for their last few UK tours and sold millions of albums, bands of that stature dont play the NME tent. I think people are considering it a possiblity becuase Lostprophets did it last year but they're the exception to the rule and even they are only playing academy venues on their current tour. pink_triangle
I think people underestimate their size because they havent had as much media exposure recently. I dont think they are any smaller, its just that quiet time between records. I would personally say they are more popular than blink 182 in the uk, they seem to appeal to loads of teenagers. I personally wouldnt watch them, however they are way too popular to be headlining the nme tent.
rexclark
Good interview in this weeks NME with MCR, there new album sounds like it could be very interesting.
kev1664
Could it not be people overestimating the size of MCR because they were big a few years ago? I do think there a band big enough to headline judging by this forum, but I get the feeling that no-one actually wants to see them do a headline slot. I think a lot of people would prefer it if they Subbed. On the flipside if they headline and biffy were on the R1/NME stage this would be an ideal clash for me. Sometimes a gap between albums can have a negative rather than positive effect on bands. How will it effect MCR though. Just a thought? Sparticus
i definately expect mcr to come back with a bang, i just can't see them headlining though. They're definately big enough, but since when does that come into it. Last year, their closest contempories (fob) played 4th down when they could have easily had a second headline slot, maybe fr sees it as a risk clashing with what the majority want. If i was to wager i'd put them second underneath green day, as whilst mcr are huge within their own right, greenday are on another level in terms of how many punters they pull in so it wouldn't look like a mismatch. Lithium05
Shame Green Day won't be playing due to their stadium tour. (I know I'll look daft if they do get announced, but it's worth the "I told you so" if I'm right! ) Edited January 22, 2010 by Lithium05
