As much as I love Hatebreed, it feels like they play every other year. Last year they kicked ass, but no so sure they'd be needed again. Although that said, would love to see the pit to 'Merciless Tide'. That would be brutal!

30 Seconds To Mars are headlining the 2nd stage... sorry if it's been mentioned before. I see on top post they are down for Saturday Second stage, but was unsure if it meant headliner.

They confirmed that they are headling the second stage during their gig in Nottingham at the weekend.

Their set at Rock City (November 2008? Yikes) was pretty amazing, think they didn't have any support and pretty much played all of the first / second albums and the new EP.

Certainly hope its true anyway, quite alot of metal / dad rock I don't particually care for seems to be getting rumoured at the moment, I hope we see more bookings in the Finch type direction .

Stone Sour are apparently definitely the second stage headliners now, after some Fan Forum thing where people asked Andy. Also a band will be playing who haven't played the UK since 1991, which most people think is Poison or Cinderella (?).

Finally Gallows are apparently not playing as they expected to be higher up last year then they're really capable of playing, and they've not been invited back this year lol.

Its not too bad, Corey Taylor seems to be at Download every year anyway plus Stone Sour will probably play a couple of other £15/20 shows this summer if theyr already over here

Of the latest s/c, only one I really care for is Finch - that based on my fiancée is desperate to see them. I saw them WAY back in 2002 in what was an immense gig in Leeds with a little known band called Coheed and Cambria as support (!) when I was just getting into rock music in general.

Jammy2211 - The Rumour Roundup thread on the official Download forums states Poison as self-confirmed 'through a secret source'. I really hope that rumour is true, if only for 'Nothin' But A Good Time'!

Just read on the Download Forums that officially confirmed by Andy Copping

the top line of the poster -AC/DC, RATM, AERSOMITH are headliners

second line of the poster- TCV, DEFTONES, STP are playing directly under the headliners on main, so sub headliners

third line of the poster- BFMV, 30STM, STONE SOUR are second stage headliners

100% no doubt about it

There is however one special guest classic band who haven't played the UK since 1991 and its not Manowar or Van Halen, Im not sure where they will be on the line up however

Im also not sure what the next line down is on the poster, if they're directly under TCV, DEFTONES and STP [im talking about Wolfmother, Motorhead line]

Also Friday is going to have less bands on it than in previous years due to AC/DC's stage setup

im just reading through it now, i'll post more if theres anything else of note
