i think dizzee would be a good addition, maybe mid afternoon second stage, i know he's bigger than that but he might see it as an opportunity to tap into a new audience. i mean whats the worst that will happen he gets bottle off and gets payed?

I've always enjoyed Mastodon every time they've played, although to be honest, they suit indoor stages and tents more than the outdoors. I've not seen them play the Crack The Skye material yet, so would be awesome to see them for a fifth time.

As for Dizzee, I think it'd be great if he played! If there's narrow-minded people out there that don't like him that's their problem. He's certainly got crossover appeal and as Lethal Bizzle, The Prodigy and Pendulum have done it in the past, I can't see why we can't have Dizzee.

@downloadfest alexisonfire or rise against! why is it taking so long?? thought we would get one this coming week?

I saw Dizzee twice last year, supporting Prodigy and at V, and he was great live but I still think he will have a big slot at Reading this year and thus won't play Download. Even though Prodigy had big slots at both last year and of course Faith No More, but I think this will stop, and acts with big slots won't be alllowed to play the other fest.

And the next announcement, they've confirmed it definatly won't be this forthcoming week, but it might be the following Monday.

I think they're just trying to sell as many tickets as possible off the AC/DC announcement and then when they start to sell less they will announce

Id say from that, that rage Is definatly gunna be one of the headliners, and its been put back because of the free gig getting announced first IMO

Right now im optimistic of a Saturday night looking like this

Rage Against The Machine

Rob Zombie

Deftones

Megadeth

would be awesome. Im really, really thinking its Rage now.

AC/DC-Rage Against the Machine-Van Halen

Its what Mustaine prefers though, and judging by their position on the poster it looks like that's what's happening :P

If they were to get 2nd or 3rd spot to Rage Against The Machine though, I would jizz.

Latest from Copping's Twitter:

Patience people, an announcement will be forthcoming next week, all will be good, you should like what we have. Can't wait for the doubters

ratm van halen and aerosmith would all fit into that.

Plus there's always the chance of a unrumoured headliner obviously!

Ok here's my guess for some of the next announcement:

- Alice In Chains (their tour manager on the UK tour said they were playing)

- Lamb Of God (touring UK at moment so announcement coincides with the end of the tour, have been mentioned on Download's twitter)

- Lacuna Coil (same as LOG)

- Rob Zombie (French Roadrunner site says he's over in Europe in May/June and has new album to promote)

- Metallica (haven't played Downlaod on the Death Magnetic tour, or since 2006, think the sonisphere deal applies to playing new sonsiphere festivals in Europe and there's no reason why when they signed the deal they couldn't have wrote in that they get to play download this year, they are Metallica after all!)

- Van Halen (cuz everyone keeps saying so)

- Soundgadren (recently reformed, can't tour the US till after Pearl Jam's European summer shows so Download makes the perfect comeback gig)

- Steel Panther (self confirmed ages ago)

- Five Finger Death Punch (everyone seems to love them at the moment and got a great reception last year)

The thing with Lacuna Coil is their bassist has been sitting out this UK tour with a shoulder injury, and they've had to have recorded bass lines (which was pretty lame). But as their twitter mentioned them and the tour is ending soon (thus paving the way for it to be ok to announce them) I figure they might do a festival tour with the bassist back.

Your probably right they won't announce all those bands in one go, but I think it will be a fair few.

Your right on Airbourne, there bound to after doing Soni last year and AC/DC playing this year.
