si_t
oh no. Only personal opinion but not loving this at all. I've had a longstanding and inexplicable hatred of 2 previously unrelated bands for the last 20 years. They are the Happy Mondays and the Beautiful South. Probably not the festival for me then this year then..... atleast Wychwood is always sunny, I suppose.
Neville Street
not 100% sure with this one, could be a laugh, but could go the other way. Anyone seen them recently? I see they played V last year, anyone heard any feedback from that gig? Similar on the New Beautiful South, I love the songs, absolutely love them, but without Paul Heaton I worry it will just be like a good covers band, and will lack authenticity. However, with Leisure Society, Bad Shepherds, Dreadzone and Levellers I have absolutely no complaints, and our third Wychwood looks set to be the best line up yet
gloucester001
I was lucky enough to see Happy Mondays last October when I was on holiday in Toronto. They were fantastic and out shone Psychedelic Furs who were billed as the headliners for the gig. Can't wait to see them again at Wychwood this summer. damo suzuki
Love Wychwood to bits but the Beautiful South never did anything for me at all. The Happy Mondays were a joy to behold back in the day but I saw them last year in Manchester and they were a complete shambles. No presence, no Bez, people standing in who were clearly under rehearsed as the band just dismantled their legacy live on stage. Really hope they get their act together for Wychwood.
