YumYum
Hes at Rock Am Ring this year, so i just thought . . . Why not? Biffy headlining the NME at the same time, plenty for everyone! Also what do people think on the chances of Dizzee Rascal being a tent headliner?

kev1664
Jay Z is headlining two other festivals so he wouldn't headline Reading and Leeds and he is too big to play second. Dizzie is probably too big two headline the NME tent, I could see him playing but probably third on mainstage.
thomasowen
Wasn't dizzie only second opening in 08. I don't think he's worthy of a third yet. There's been more popular bands then him play the NME the last few years. I think that would be good for him. Jay z, do u reckon he could sub to linkin park if they played. I know he's big but the prodigy played everywhere last year.
thetime
Jay Z wouldn't sub headline for anyone, no way.
rexclark
Eminem headlined, I donb't see why Jay Z couldn't.

jonwl89
He would 2nd headline, just look at his support slots to coldplay and LP in this country, the guy is desperate for UK exposure because he's no where near as big as in the US so i think 2nd down isn;t to far out of the question

kev1664
His role was more of a special guest for those shows, just as coldplay were his special guests at American show. There is no way on earth he would subheadline Reading, he headlined Glasto which is a much bigger festival and he is arguably the biggest male artist in the word. thetime
I'd prefer him away from main simply because I wouldn't want to watch him.
JBarbour
what about co-headlining, with a band. didnt snow patrol and blur co-headline a festival last year. Blur headlined glastonbury and still co-headlined a smaller festival, if i remember correctly. Also he looks like he's sub-headlining at RaR

kev1664
oh your one of them who stick themselfs on the main stage and thats it.
JBarbour
Co headline is a stupid phrase, the band thats on last is the headliner, it's just a term thety use to make the band on 2nd last think they've got a better deal.
thomasowen
Well I think special guest is all he'd be at r & l if heplays this year, I'm not arguing he ain't big enough to headline, its just the fact that he's available more this year than he was at glastonbury. Anyway if we have Green day blink and mcr I don't think they put a rap artist on aswell, I for one would be dissapointed. I'd want something a bit less punk and more rock/indie for the other day, like REM or the foos. Dizzie had a load of number 1s when he played in 08 aswell though and wasn't as high as third. I'd prefer him away from main simply because I wouldn't want to watch him.
thetime
Wrong thomas! Dizzee doesn't play arenas on his own, placebo do.
rexclark
May well be the case, but don't the slots thru out the day vary in length? so sub-headliners get less time than headliners? so co-headliners will get the same amount of time, and don't the headliners get more coverage from the likes of bbc. On interactive (red button) for example and on the radio
Lithium05
Wouldn't want Jay Z wasting a headlining slot. Wouldn't mind him being second on the bill. It's not that I doubt he's big enough to headline, I just find him incredibly overrated.
