I think some people might need to revisit their expectations for a new and growing festival like Rockness. Jim mentioned last year that he needs to try and gets acts that TITP don't want or maybe had last year and this might always be the case due to location and the the type of festival Rockness is trying to be.

Not that impressed that Fatboy is headlining again but probably wont go and see him as I dont really bother with the headline acts. People like Vitalic, Bookashade, Bloody Beetroots are good additions and what a lot of people have been asking for. The Strokes and Ian Brown would be headline act in the King Tuts tent at TITP so a fairly big act still for Rockness.

Everyone has their own opinion as I wouldnt have been that impressed if Faithless were headlining.

fatboy f**kin slim again! 3rd time headlining in five years... i was really hoping for a decent dance headliner for the main stage, someone like chemical brothers. i wonder if any of the acts announced tonight will be headlining the clash tent. i could see doves or ian brown doing it, with maybe a dance headliner the second night. not going to get my hopes up for anyone decent. really not that excited about any of the headliners so far. i mean i'm excited, but not hyper jumping up and down excited.

looking at all of the acts in this announcement though, there are plenty i want to see.

DAN LE SAC VS SCROOBIUS PIP! i have been saying since last year that they should play rockness. they are f**kin amazing. really looking forward to seeing them.

also vitalic, plan b, enter shikari, japanese popstars and cuban brothers. need to listen to quite a few acts on the line up cause i've heard good things about some of them but not actually heard their stuff.

at least it wasnt tiesto!!

The main acts for ROCKNESS 2010 are revealed today with yet more stellar names added to the most exciting and inspired line up yet in the festival's blossoming history.

Five years since FATBOY SLIM staged the first RockNess against the backdrop of iconic Loch Ness in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and following a sabbatical in 2009, he returns to headline this June. Joining him, in two truly dazzling coups for The Most Beautiful Festival In The World, NY garage rock kings THE STROKES and electronic pioneers LEFTFIELD are also lined up in a double whammy Scottish festival exclusive.

This tasty trio of headliners are joined by the latest wave of new acts announced today - every one guaranteed to officially get Scotland's soundtrack to the summer off to a stunning start.

In a move sure to thrill even the most judicious dance and rock fans, DOVES, IAN BROWN, ENTER SHIKARI and FRIENDLY FIRES are confirmed and join a dazzling proposition of the very finest international electronic talent including THE BLOODY BEETROOTS, VITALIC, AEROPLANE, PLAN B, BOOKASHADE, THE JAPANESE POPSTARS, DAN LE SAC VS SCROOBIUS PIP, CHASE & STATUS, BOYS NOIZE, THE DUB PISTOLS and RockNess favourites THE CUBAN BROTHERS.

Bearing testament to the growing popularity of RockNess, BBC RADIO 1 is on board as the OFFICIAL RADIO PARTNER this year and the inimitable ZANE LOWE is revealed as the station's latest hottest name set to head north to host an arena alongside ANNIE MAC and ROB DA BANK. Topping the fantasy DJ line up of clubbers far and wide, RockNess is also proud to announce the appearance of the world's most exclusive DJ collective CLUB 75. Part Justice, part Cassius, with the very best of the mighty Ed Banger Records thrown in, the all-French star line up is set to deliver what promises to be one of the hottest performances of the entire summer in a stunning UK debut at RockNess 2010.

In true RockNess style, the proverbial envelope continues to be pushed to the max for 2010 with more new arenas added, including the monstrous ARCADIA ARENA that makes its big, bold RockNess debut in one of the few times witnessed outside of Glastonbury. This world class audio and visual feast of mind boggling, post-apocalyptic pyrotechnics, dramatic podiums extending into the crowd, multi rave platforms and fire performance displays has to be seen to be believed. Set against the iconic backdrop of Loch Ness, expect to be well and truly blown away!

RockNess 2010 - The Most Beautiful Festival in the World - takes place on Friday 11th – Sunday 13th June and returns as a three-day event following last year's successful extension to three nights when the Main Stage got the party started on the Friday night for the first time.

QUOTE:

Jim King, Festival Director "We're delighted with the RockNess line up this year - the best we’ve had to date, and we’re particularly looking forward to having BBC Radio 1 on board as our Official Radio Partner. We have some really great indie bands lined up with The Strokes, Doves and Ian Brown and there's still more bands to add. The electronic acts are once again the very best you are going to hear anywhere in the world with Leftfield undoubtedly the must see gig of the year. We're also injecting some real energy into the show with bands like Chase & Status and Enter Shikari. On top of all this Fatboy is back to his spiritual home where he’s never disappointed. RockNess is going to be the best and the biggest party in Scotland this summer and we can't wait.”

2 Day Weekend Tickets (including camping) £130.00

Pretty excited about most of it TBH. Especially Japanese Popstars. Loving these guys right now.

Personally I can't wait. Over the Leftfield thing already. Who cares if it's only one of them, it will be smoking hot just as much.

Bloody Beetroots and Vitalic? Thats my weekend sorted for some 'pounding pounding techno music'!!

Bring it on!!!!!!!

I'm gutted with the leak. Came on here for the pre announcement excitement and main page spoiled it!

Actually thought pendulem would be announced had a funny feeling all day but not to be.

Ok I'm disappointed in fatboy, but hey my mate is bouncing about like tigger on haribo. Its right up his street and as he said ' don't be a snob, you've seen him, I've not.'

Ian Brown maybe good, maybe suck, maybe get arrested before during or after the show. May check him out. Doves could be really interesting.

Overall I'm really happy with Dan Le sac, Plan B, Aeroplane (never off my spotify now) & dub pistols.

If were lucky we will get a delphic, phoenix, bad leuitenant ect along the way.

and guys look at who you are going to see and not who you won't (it'll make you feel better)

The calibre of Dj's/acts announced is pretty good, but i think the feeling most people have is that they are not the "household" names that im pretty sure we were all expecting. TBH if they were announced along with another big/special/crowd pleaser, then we would be fecking delighted!

Ian Brown will be epic, in one way or another, as will the noise from the tents!

Maybe a few more biggies to come???

:P
