Poleski
I don't understand how you can possibly get annoyed that it's in London!? They can't play everywhere in the country to make sure nobody has to pay to travel. It makes perfect sense to have it in London.
luckysalt
I think somewhere like Derby would have been better. I have a f**king hefty travel ahead of me. The north will have a massive amount of people wanting to go.

rivalschools.price
i know rage get a hammering on these pages but surely this is the strangest one yet.they agree,as promosed,to play a free gig in the uk.they provide measures to ensure the touts wont find it easy to get hold of tickets and arrange a venue that holds 40,000 people, all free. but now we find that thats not good enough as they didnt provide parking and people might have to travel to get there!!! thomasowen
I really don't know what some people were expecting. You would need to travel wherever its held, and the public transport in London can cater for a lot more people than anywhere in the midlands. They seem to have done a decent job as far as I can tell. Lewis2804
This RATM gig holds 40 000???!
Tomleeds
They could have held the gig anywhere in the UK and people would still have had to travel to get there. Such a stupid thing to be complaining about. Rage are playing a free gig for 40,000 people! As if theres actually people finding something to whine about. Lighten up! Vieuphoria
i hate the automatic negativity towards this. The tickets are free and now you want Morrelo and co to fork out for petrol money, accommodation, and maybe a packed lunch? Its amazing the lengths that people have to go to to mearly do a good thing
JBarbour
Anyone else think this gig will be full of cocks, thats only ever heard one rage song. I would love to see them again but not with people thats waiting for them to play the one song. A bit like reading last year with kings of leon!! I think a lot of the people that go might be a bit disappointed when the full gig ain't like killing in the name. Might get the odd fan there, but its a free gig... moz4pm
i imagine there will be some but i doubt that most of the people who joined the facebook group were actually bothered about the free gig, someone who's only heard that one song isnt gonna travel from around the country for it. It'll mostly be fans of the band that register.

Vieuphoria
That being said though... Everyone has to start being a fan sometime. Seeing the band at Reading could have opened to the door to a love of the band as a whole. So are they a true fan once this has occured? Don't really see it as insulting really. scottt
Completely agree, thats why I wasn't annoyed that Only by the night was so huge, even though some people resented Kings of Leon's success. That said I think there is a big and obvious difference between new fans who aren't that familiar with all the material and people that go only for one song and only one song. thomasowen
That's different though. Only by the night wasn't very good
scottt
So, you stick by a band if they make a bad album if you are a true fan. Lots of people I know and on these boards just seemed to be annoyed by the fact that they became popular in the mainstream.
