rachbon
Na the government pay it as long as the rent is the going rate etc So what's a room in Glasgow? £300? +£50 jobseekers a week = £500 a month ish. Students at max get about the same. Edited February 18, 2010 by _rachelbon
Poleski
At the end of the day, most students are lazy, and like to moan.
stu150
Do they have to pay it back though? They also get their rent paid for.
Kyelo
In a way - previous & future taxes - something students also dont pay!
Paul ™
Over their lifetimes people with degrees earn more ergo pay more tax.

rexclark
It's a damn shame about this farce and hopefully it'll get sorted out. As for should students get cheap tickets, perhaps but as with this year everyone should be allowed a small window which no matter if they're students or work or are unemployed should be able to get tickets for a reduced price, the deal this year was fantastic and I take my hat off to the organisers. The difference is, as a full time worker I'll take plenty of cash and buy plenty of drink etc... where as students will try to sneak in a litre of vodka and a tuna sandwitch down there pants to save a few quid. Da_J_Doc-~
Hee Hee could be worth going to Rockness just to see what happens with everyone who has bought these.
irons
They better get this sorted. I checked my confirmation email last night too, not a word on it about having to be a student or student ID. Why did they not even name the ticket option 'student tickets' Then people would have been wary. As it is saying 'student ambassador', and with no warnings from Ticketmaster, this just looks like some kind of promotion. I wasn't even bothered about saving money or free transport. It was the option of Front Row camping I was after so I could camp with efest. Here's where I got the code from, not a mention about being a student. /index.php?showtopic=137342"> CLICKY If this was only between students it should have been done internaly. No way should any random have been able to buy these tickets. Leading people on false assumptions to buy tickets for their gain is fraud. They should never have been allowed to say what they like to sell festival tickets. In my experience half them can't even pitch a tent, f**kin' trumpets. Come to think of it we've all got their personal codes don't we? Good mind to contact Rockness and inform them. Hopefuly stop all these ambassador privelages. Let them pay for tickets and anything else they've fleeced. Edited February 19, 2010 by irons
Paul ™
100% agree with you mate Send an email to - ashley.adams@aeglive.co.uk She is the Student Liason officer for AEG, perhaps send her a link to this thread so she can see what impact this can possibly have at the event Edited February 19, 2010 by Paul ™

rachbon
i don't think they'll inforce this. they need to get people inside the campsite as quick as they can to cut down the queues. it'll just be a quick look at your ticket then rushing you along. rachbon
i really doubt they'll turn people away if they have a ticket. although i can see why you're all worried.
rexclark
I'm sure they'll sort this, even though it's not directly there fault, it would look really bad for the festival.
Paul ™
I'll do that mate, cheers. There must have been some kind of terms and guidelines to become a 'student ambassador' If they've breached them Rockness or whoever would be within their rights to get the courts involved. It is fraud. If a lot of people have bought these and don't get in there will be chaos, and a half empty festival. Well done.

furryhaggis
We've had a good number of emails asking us to update our facebook groups... so there's little point passing the blame on to Rockness or AEG- its more or less beyond their direct control. It is just unfortunate that there are some cowboys/ambassadors that haven't got their fingers out their arse and made what they are pushing any clearer. If want a result... spam their facebook groups with questions about ID or just friendly abuse in general! 'Guestlisting' for a festival, so to speak is, a stroke of genius! Obviously, first time round there will be hiccups. But saying that, I've already got a festival with my mates around me- we've got cheaper tickets, we can even get the same bus up together and of course the lineups great and getting better with each announcement! Roll on Rockness 2010!
irons
That's fine telling them to update their facebooks furryhaggis, the emails went out within a couple of hours of me emailing them about this farce. But it's a bit late for the people who booked tickets a month or 2 ago in good faith.
